I received the product below to review in exchange for sharing my honest opinion.
Sometimes I just want to run a vacuum over a spot without having to dig out my big vacuum. Sure a handheld vacuum will do the job but then I have to get down on the ground and the older I get the less I want to get down to clean.
Well Dyson has the Dyson V6 Absolute which is a cordless vacuum that gives off Dyson suction power but without the hassle of a cord. Its digitally controlled motor spins at up to 110,000 rpm, which is three times faster than conventional motors. Ground-in dirt from carpets and dust from hardwood floors is no problem either for the Dyson V6 due to its stiff nylon bristles and soft carbon fiber filaments.
First off you get a lot with this vacuum, honestly I was surprised with the amount of attachments.
So the Dyson V6 Absolute is a stick-like vacuum that you mount (although you don’t have to) on the wall for easy cleaning. You install the plate with just two screws and plug it in to charge it. To charge then you just snap the vacuum into the plate as the charger mounts inside the plate. Yes you do need to plug in the charger to an outlet but you get about 3-4 feet of cord to work with. My husband hasn’t had time to mount it yet and where I’m putting it doesn’t get enough good light for a picture, but here is what the mount looks like. I think I am going to mount it in my laundry room which is right off my kitchen since I tend to need to vacuum/sweep my kitchen daily (hourly?) and this would make those quick clean-ups go faster than sweeping or plugging in my big upright.
The plate that mounts to the wall:
After you wait an hour or so of charging you are ready to vacuum. This vacuum sucks, in a good way, like a really good way. I have an upright Dyson and I’d say its just as powerful. It is rare to find a powerful cordless vacuum but Dyson did it with this one. I am impressed every time I use it with how much power it gives off, you can just feel the suction as you vacuum. Oh and that brings me to another point, there are two settings: Regular and Boost. On Boost you get less running time but more power. I honestly haven’t had to to Boost yet as I haven’t had any problems with suction on Regular mode.
Like attachments? Oh boy does this one come with attachments. Seriously you get so many attachments you will not know what to do with them all. For storage you can attach one to the vacuum itself and two more to the charger plate, but for the rest of the attachments I was kinda at a loss of what to do. For now I threw them all in a big bag for storage, so I guess that is kinda a complaint that you get an abundance of attachments with no good storage solution.
All the accessories easily snap on and off:
I will say though you know which attachments you will use the most often and it is nice that you can store two of them on the charger plate. It is truly a versatile vacuum and no matter the project there seems to be an attachment for it.
As far as vacuuming with the V6 Absolute, it does take a little getting used to. It is a little heavy (awkward) on your wrist as all the weight of the vacuum is there, but after a few uses you get used to the weight, which really is only about 5lbs. Even my 8 year old could vacuum with it. Oh and you do have to push the button the whole time you want to vacuum and then let go when you want to stop.
It doesn’t look like it holds that much but I just end up emptying it after each use:
Yes this vacuum is top-heavy though so you can’t really stand it up like other vacuums, you need to lean it against something. With a running time though of 20 minutes you probably won’t need to set it down though as you’ll be a cleaning machine as you work while waiting for the battery to die. It does re-charge pretty quickly but yes keep in mind, it sucks for only 20 minutes and even less than that on Boost Mode. I use this vacuum mainly for quick clean-ups like a mess in my kitchen or front room, not to vacuum my whole house. Not that this vacuum couldn’t handle vacuuming a whole house, but you’d just need to charge it a few times probably to finish.
Overall though the Dyson V6 Absolute Cordless vacuum is a pretty awesome vacuum. It blows away so many other cordless vacuums and with the mount it conveniently sits wherever you need it. Hopefully you have an outlet near where you want to mount it, if so you are all set.
BUY IT: You can find the Dyson V6 Absolute Cordless Vacuum at Walmart for $479.

It would be nice to be able to vacuum without the cord. There are so many spots in my home where my regular vacuum won’t reach because the cord is not long enough.

I live in a small apartment and still have to re-plug my vacuum in four times. The cord is that short. lol This cordless would be awesome! I like that it has a 20 minute running time too. Nice! Thanks for the review. 🙂

I like that the new Dyson V6 Absolute Cordless Vacuum is picks up both small and large debris at the same time. A lot of times, cordless vacuums seem to only pick up small debris. I’m going to have to check out this new vacuum.
