This blog post was sponsored by BMO Harris but the opinions are completely my own based on my experience.
I have always been a self-motivated individual and when I want something I work towards it. I have five siblings, so early on I learned that I need to stick up for myself, earn what I want and nothing will be given to me. When I got married, I will say it was very hard for me to learn to trust and lean on someone else. My husband was great though and patient with my independent-driven personality.
When I had my first child I quit my job and became a stay-at-home mom. Don’t get me wrong, I loved being home with him but it was a change to not have anything to do but take care of him. I did odd jobs online to make money to help contribute to my family but I never felt like it was enough.
When my second child was born I decided to start a website and my husband was the one who pushed me to do it. He knew I needed something to call my own and with a tech background, a website was something he knew would be perfect. He had full confidence in me and made sure I had the time and resources to work on it. Now seven years later I feel like I have the best job ever and the best of both worlds – job and family.
When you think of “helping make dream come true” a bank is not necessarily the first thing that may come to mind. Well BMO Harris has done exactly that. They helped a very special customer realize that even a 91 year old’s dream can come true. They didn’t give her a hand out, but rather a helping hand up to achieve her dreams of showcasing her product. Everyone needs a different form of help and its not something that is one-size-fits-all. It is amazing that a company as big as BMO Harris helped a customer in such a simple way but it made all the difference to Catherine.
