Sponsored post by Lunchbox. All opinions are my own.
Don’t get me wrong my childhood was amazing but I didn’t get a lot of family time at home. We went on a lot of outings and vacations as a family but at home it was crazy. I was the oldest of three at the time and my brothers were double trouble. My dad worked like crazy and my mom did the best she could.
Now as a mom of three, I am trying to start our own family traditions including game nights and baking together. I want my kids to grow up learning the basics of cooking and baking, unlike me who was clueless until I lived on my own basically! Its funny too how I always thought of baking as a “girl-thing” but when I asked my 7 year old son out of the blue if he could help me mix some batter, he was thrilled. I guess I never asked him before to help – which is when I realized I needed to change that.
One way to spend more time as a family is to bake together, especially cookies since who doesn’t like cookies? Country Crock wants to inspire creativity in the kitchen with kids and they have launched the #MakeItYours campaign.
The #MakeItYours Cookie Recipe using traditional cookie ingredients you’d expect including Country Crock, eggs and sugar but they encourage 1 to 2 cups of mix-ins. The mix-ins can be anything from sprinkles to chocolate chips to bacon and potato chips! It is a recipe that hopefully inspires some fun and creative family time!
My kids are so excited to start our Baking on Sundays family time using the Country Crock Make It Your’s Recipe. We just have to agree on which mix-ins we are going to be using but so far one will definitely be sprinkles! I know whatever we put in the cookies will taste amazing though as Country Crock is the perfect base for cookies – we currently use Country Crock when baking chocolate chip cookies and we used it for all our Christmas cookies last year.
What’s so great about Country Crock? Well, Country Crock is made with real, simple ingredients, no artificial preservatives or flavors, and contains 0g trans fat per serving. I always get compliments too on how soft and delicious my cookies are when Country Crock is used.
