I partnered with bamboobies in exchange for sharing my honest opinion and this information.
With April being Earth Month, it is important to remember to tread lightly on the environment. From recycling in your household to planting trees, there are lots of ways to make sure you are protecting the environment as much as you can. As a new mother there are lots of ways to honor Earth Month that moms may not even think about. Like using washable nursing pads or cloth diapers, creating less trash in the landfill. bamboobies is a company that recently conducted a survey and discovered that more than 66% of new moms are using nursing pads to help prevent embarrassing leaks. If you’ve ever nursed, you know that leaks happen (a lot) and I remember with my first child I went through a package of disposable nursing pads a week. I remember thinking how wasteful it was that I was throwing away all those pads. It was bad enough I used disposable diapers but now I was adding disposable nursing pads as well. With my second child I discovered some washable nursing pads and they made me feel better about using them.
I didn’t know about bamboobies back then unfortunately but they are a company that actually sells award-winning nursing pads, amongst other products. bamboobies are ultra-soft nursing pads that don’t show through or leak through like other washable pads often do. The nursing pads are heart-shaped and made of soothing bamboo rayon velour, an absorbent inner layer with an outer milk-proof liner to help prevent embarrassing leaks for new nursing moms. Why do they use bamboo on their pads? Bamboo Rayon Velour is eco-friendly, softer than silk and four times as absorbent as cotton. It doesn’t get cold when wet like cotton does and is used specifically in bamboobies since it is a fully sustainable product.
I received a box of bamboobies and they are pretty amazing. Now I don’t have a need for nursing pads right now but boy are these nicer than what I remember. The bamboobies nursing pads are seriously super soft as they say. I can’t attest to the absorption but they do come in two different sizes – Regular and Overnights – with them feeling thick enough to absorb but without the bulk feeling.
In addition the bamboobies Washable Nursing Pads, bamboobies also features an amazing Chic Nursing Shawl. I honestly never breast fed in public because I was embarrassed and the blankets I tried to use never stayed in place. This nursing cover actually goes on like a poncho and is one size fits most. Just like the Nursing Pads, this Nursing Shawl is made of the ultra-soft rayon from bamboo. The fabric really is amazing and lightweight. Its not a fabric that would irritate a baby while they are feeding which is a must.
You can see how lightweight it:
bamboobies basically has all of a mom’s breastfeeding needs covered. From products moms will need to resources to guide them. There is even a Breastfeeding 101 section for questions.
