When I was younger summer camp was basically kids hanging out at the local park playing games and swimming if you were lucky to be at a park with a pool. I honestly was not a fan of camp back then as my friends didn’t go and we never did anything exciting. Today though while there are still the traditional summer camps there are so many more options available. A variety of summer camps is awesome because kids come in all shapes and sizes.
Galileo camps are a camp unlike other summer camps. They are a camp for fearless innovators, trail blazers and outside-the-box thinkers. Their mission is to develop innovators who envision and create a better world. Galileo’s campers will directly interact with Galileo’s innovative curriculum.
One of Galileo’s curriculum involves getting in touch with your adventurous side. Camp Galileo’s National Parks Adventure theme encourages activities such as building an indoor fort built for a king or creating a fort outside.
My husband and boys went camping two weeks ago and they had a blast building a bridge. They loved the hands-on building and figuring out together how to make the bridge work. My boys came home with so many great memories but they were bummed because it was only for one night. I think a camp where they can use their hands and curious minds would be amazing for them.
Why is summer camp important? Well we’ve all heard of the summer brain drain and that kids need to be engaged. A transformative summer program like Galileo camp will not only inspire kids to be more confident and successful for when they head back to school but also keep them engaged in learning!
