So what is a mom to do when her kids say they are bored? Tell them to go out and create a battle field! Summer is the perfect time to get those blasters outside and it is actually way more fun shooting them outside then in. My boys hide in bushes, trees, behind cars and even in ditches to create the perfect hiding spot for battling. Outside they don’t have to worry about shooting something they are not supposed to. I am surprised that nothing in my house has been broken by a NERF dart yet (as they can be pretty powerful) but then again they are quite good shots thanks to all the practice.
My neighborhood is full of kids and NERF battles have become quite the nightly occurrence here. The other night actually it was funny because a boy down the street must have heard my boys and he yelled out his front door “Are you guys having a NERF battle?” After a “Yes!” he came running down with his NERF blasters. Luckily if we do meet a kid who does not own a NERF blaster (which we haven’t yet) we have a blaster to supply them with but usually the kids bring their own and shoot like there is no tomorrow. I even saw them creating targets to try to knock down the other day which was pretty cute.
To celebrate summer NERF has some fun blasters to check out which my boys were excited to add to their collection. Both are powerful blasters and perfect for outdoor action.
The NERF N-Strike Modulus ECS-10 Blaster has more than 30 combinations and a range of 90 feet. Features targeting scope, drop grip and dual-rail barrel.
Complimenting that blaster, the new NERF N-Strike Elite Stryfe Blaster is a 6-dart dynamo that lets you launch Elite Darts one-handed at targets up to 75 feet away.
Now I will say both the blasters require batteries and you definitely do not want to forget to pick up plenty of Duracell batteries to keep all the blasters powered all summer. Not that they run through batteries fast but rather your kids will probably use them so much they will need extra power!
Pick up Duracell batteries at your local Toys“R”Us so your family is ready for action this summer. Oh and you can pick up some fun summer toys, including new NERF blasters as well at your local Toys“R”Us.
Note I did say “family is ready” as yes we do turn this into a family game as well. Kids against parents is something my kids love, especially since they seem to always beat us! I guess I should start practicing when they are out with friends!
