Remember the days of fast-forwarding cassette tapes and skipping songs of CDs? While I do miss browsing the stores for CDs (sorry records were before me), I will say it is super nice to be able to play music from my phone at the touch of a button.
Thanks to Google Chromecast Audio, streaming music has never been easier. It is a simple device that allows you to stream music via WiFi to any speakers, new or old. The difference with Chromecast Audio from other streaming music devices is that it uses WiFi instead of Bluetooth, so you can stream crystal clear hi res sound. I have streamed via Bluetooth before and the sound cut in and out but with the Chromecast Audio I did not have any streaming issues.
Setting up Google Chromecast Audio
You need WiFi, an outlet, a speaker and a device (phone or tablet) to stream from.
Set up was super easy, I had it ready to go in minutes. All I had to do is plug everything in, and the box has a great visual to follow, and download an app. The Google app searches your WiFi and sets you up, which you should only have to do the first time. Going forward you just hit the Cast button and it will push your music to the device.
You can stream millions of songs, radio stations and podcasts through apps like Pandora, Spotify, YouTube Music, and Google Play Music. Find more at chromecast.com/apps.

Want music everywhere around you?
You can easily fill every room in your home with synchronous music. Simply group Chromecast Audio devices together so you can listen to the same song on multiple speakers.
What else is there to know about Google Chromecast Audio?
At just $35, it is an affordable way to stream music to a speaker. I know for me, my phone’s speaker is not very loud and being able to stream quickly and easily is important to me.
I can see this is useful when streaming somewhere without a television especially. For us, we have Google Chromecast on our tv and I can stream easily to my tv but if I don’t want to use the tv, I can stream through this Google Chromecast Audio.
The device is small and portable, but it does have its limitations of needing to be plugged in. I have a few bluetooth speakers that work outside and without being plugged in, but they need to be connected via bluetooth. I guess it depends on the quality of music you want and if you have problems with bluetooth. While I can see the uses for this device, it is not for everyone.
Check out Google Chromecast Audio at your local Best Buy store.

A few of my grandkids carry around a portable speaker when they come over and spend the night. I might have wanted one of these at one time, but I don’t listen to music like I used to. I do have Spotify and iHeart Radio on my iPhone.
I guess if I was going to have a party & I didn’t have a stereo, I would want something like this.
Thanks for sharing!
