I feel like just yesterday we were celebrating New Year’s Eve and now before we know it, it will be Christmastime again. School for us has been back in session for a few weeks now and September is almost over. This year I have started shopping early for a few reasons.
Here are 5 reasons I have started shopping early:
1. Too many times now I have had to search high and low for my kid’s must-have gifts that have sold out. Last year I almost didn’t get my middle child’s #1 gift as it came back in stock just days before the holidays. If you have young kids, you might want to start asking them now or check out the Top 40 Toy Holiday Gifts for 2018 for ideas!
2. Prices seem to go up closer to the holidays or maybe stores just don’t run as many sales! You may end up paying more too if you wait too long and have to shop on eBay. I like to shop right after Thanksgiving and pick up some great cyber week deals.
3. The holidays seem to bring unexpected expenses. From additional costs for hosting meals for family to higher gas bills, and then gift giving to others, costs can really add up.
4. Shopping early means less stress later. There is so much to worry about and take care with the year ending that having to buy gifts shouldn’t have to be one of them.
5. Many stores offer longer return policies so you don’t have to worry about not being able to return items later. I also like to store all my receipts in a folder to keep track of everything.
Do you shop early or are you a last minute shopper?
Whatever you do, even if you buy just one item early, it will help I promise! I bought one personalized gift the other day and I have already started making my list on what else I need to buy.

Wise thing to do, especially with growing population in my city.. it’s a waste of time waiting in lines.. if you go on busy weekend holidays
