With my kids getting older I decided I wanted to start making the most of the time I have with them before they go off and live their own lives. One thing our family has always done is take vacations but many times we go to the same places. To avoid repeating a trip, I am starting a list of places I want to go with my family. Did you know there are tons of things for families to do at Panama City Beach? I honestly hadn’t thought to visit Panama City Beach until I started doing some surfing online. Yes other than 27 miles of white sand beaches and amazing turquoise water, there are lots to do in this Northwest Florida destination!
So you may be thinking that it is crazy to think of visiting Panama City Beach after Hurricane Michael…
Well, Panama City Beach was actually very fortunate with regards to Hurricane Michael. The beach is still what it is before the hurricane with its sugar-white sand and amazing turquoise water. Accommodations and attractions are open and ready for visitors. The locals have built such a great community that they are ready to share all that Panama City Beach has to offer. It is and always will be a great place to create memories and reunite visitors with a slice of paradise.
Here are some things I found for a family to do at Panama City Beach:
1. Cobra Adventure Park is just one of the small, beachside amusement parks to visit. It has a “kids only” roller coaster, go-karts, flight simulator, arcade and more!
2. Geocaching is a huge activity that over 6 million people worldwide participate in and in Panama City Beach there are caches located to explore including ones with various articles of pirate gear you can wear on your journey. After you find all the caches you will even earn a digital souvenir.
3. The Sea Dragon Pirate Cruise is a two-hour exploration cruise of St. Andrew Bay that gives families the whole pirate experience! This sounds pretty cool!
4. Escape Zone 60, Inc is a love mystery solving experience where visitors get 60 minutes to solve puzzles to escape their room.
5. Pier Park is a 900,000+ square foot shopping and entertainment center with top of the line dining, shopping and more!
6. Visit the #2 beach in the nation, St. Andrews State Park, and go sunbathing on the beach, snorkeling, canoeing, kayaking, hiking, boating or even animal spotting. The animals there include fish, dolphins, sea turtles and other aquatic life.
7. Check out Boggy Bayou Airboat Tours for a ride for up to six passengers to see the beauty of “Real Florida.”
8. Check out the current events going on. There are activities for all ages constantly going on and no matter what time you visit you are sure to be able to check out something fun that is happening!
9. Go fishing. There are tons of spots to fish and even private charters available to take you and your family to just the right spots for fishing. You can go bottom fishing, trolling, fly fishing, sports fishing or just regular everyday fishing!
10. Visit St. Andrews State Park for hiking, kayaking, snorkeling and checking out animals including deer, migrating birds and alligators.
I feel like by just doing some quick searches on the Internet I already have a great list of places to visit and it has helped me see that Panama City Beach is great for all ages and perfect for when you want to visit the Real. FUN. Beach.
