In Chicago, we take advantage of going outdoors any chance we can. My family spends a lot of time at the pool and beach in the summer and in the fall we have a lot of bonfires in our backyard. Being an active family means I look for devices that can handle not only constant use but also be durable for wherever we go.
Over the summer, one of my brother’s friends brought this cool speaker that could go by the pool without worrying about it getting damaged. My tween thought it was so cool. So when I was looking for a gift for my 11-year-old, I was excited to find that Altec Lansing makes a speaker that is affordable, water resistant and connects via Bluetooth!
So what features stand out on the Altec Lansing Mini LifeJacket Jolt Bluetooth speaker?
- Water resistant up to 3 feet and actually can float on the water! Oh and in the winter months it is snowproof as well if you want to use it outside now!
- Qi Wireless Charging that will keep your phone and other QI enabled devices powered with ease
- Dirtproof – so no need to worry about where you are setting it down
- Voice assistant compatibility with Google or Siri
- Can be paired with Bluetooth device up to 100 feet away
- A rechargeable battery that lasts up to 16 hours on a full charge
- Built-in microphone accepts hands-free calls through the speaker
- Auxiliary audio input for wired connectivity
- Able to be paired with other speakers
- Needs only 2 hours to charge via USB
- Small size for easy traveling with
I paired this speaker with my Android phone and have had no issues. Seriously it paired within minutes with no problems at all. It has been so great to have around our house for now and I can’t wait to be able to use it outside! I was skeptical due to its size but it has impressed me with its sound quality.
A feature that is really cool and that worked without a hitch was the Voice Assitant. I was able to leave my phone in the other room and click on the microphone button and say “Hey Google Play Imagine Dragons on Pandora” – and guess what? It did! With a range of 100 feet you could really take advantage of that feature.
My kids think it is the coolest thing how it connects so quick and love that they don’t have to be so careful with it. For the price, you really can’t go wrong when looking for an on-the-go speaker. Even if you don’t think you’ll use it outside, you may be surprised how much you’ll use it around the house due to its size and convenience.
