So the time has come for your little ones to start school. Whether you have chosen to enter them from the age of 2 or 3 it can be a nerve-racking experience for both you and your children. Your left wondering if they’re going to be alright, you can see that they may be worried about mommy and daddy leaving them for the day, don’t worry there are some steps you can take to make it a little easier for both you and them. Have a look below at some of the ways you can help prepare for their first day of school.
Confidence In The Choice Your Have Made
You’ve probably already sat there for hours on end thinking about the decision you’ve made when it comes to which school you have chosen. You just need to make sure you have taken into consideration which school education program is the best fit for each child. Everyone is different and this should be how you know you can be confident in your choice. You may have opted to send your children to a private school such as Primary Montessori Day School or decided that your local public school is the best fit wither way the best thing for you to do is just go with what is best for your children and how they learn.
Do A Test Run
Something that may help you and your children to ease into the first day of school could be by having a taster day. Even if you’re not going to school on that day do a test run of the morning routine and see how it’s going to pan out. You could even try dropping your children at a grandparents house for the duration of a normal school day and test the pickup routine too. The morning routine could include things such as setting out the outfit for the day, packing a school suitable packed lunch, trying a hairstyle that keeps the hair tied up, the timing of the car ride to school and role play the drop off when arriving. If your children are going to be getting the bus when a little older you could run through the bus route with them so that they know what to expect.
Be Prepared
There’s nothing worse than getting to the first day of school and realizing that you have missed something off of the list or haven’t bought new socks. Try making a list of all the equipment they are expected to take with them and if they wear a uniform make sure you have everything on the list that the school provides. You can make it a fun day out with the kids by getting them involved in choosing items such as their backpack, pencil case, and lunch box. Doing this could help to make the first day of school just that little bit less nerve-racking. Also, bookmark sites like CalculatorBee.com to be prepared.
