Looking for the perfect gift for a new dad? You’ve come to the right place. Often, much of the gift-giving is geared towards the baby and, sometimes, Mom—so it’s hard to know what to get Dad. With co-ed baby showers becoming more of the norm, it’s great to keep Dad in mind as you buy a gift too. So, here are a few ideas to get you started in the right direction.
Baby Carrier
Carrying baby around can be a very sweet bonding experience. However, sometimes Dad needs their hands free to do other things, but they still want to hold their baby. So, what can they do? Get a front baby carrier. Front carriers provide great support and safety for baby while allowing Dad to take the baby with them while performing their normal day-to-day activities.
Vehicle Health Monitor
There’s nothing worse than having car troubles when you’ve just had a new baby. Dad might be worried about keeping their little bundle of joy safe and warm in the car. He also might be worried if that check engine light comes on and there’s only one car available. If Dad’s car is not running properly, everyone is stressed. So, get Dad an OBD2 monitor. The monitor will help him spot warning signs before they become issues and can help him diagnose car troubles. So, it’ll give Dad peace of mind and help him to keep everyone a little safer.
Tactical Diaper Bag
This next idea is probably the only bag that dads will get excited about. Treat the new dad-to-be to a tactical diaper bag. That’s right, there are companies that make diaper bags that look like outdoor gear or military type bags. They usually include pockets, changing pads, and even ways to attach to strollers. So, Dad won’t have to haul around mom’s foo-foo looking diaper bag. He’ll be able to proudly carry his own, with man card still intact.
A Gift Card for an Experience
Let’s face it, being a new parent is hard no matter how you slice it. New parents are stuck at home a lot, and they probably aren’t getting enough sleep. It is important, for them, to take time to rejuvenate so they can be at their best for baby. So, maybe consider getting Dad a gift card for an experience.
Does he enjoy arcade games? Get him a day pass to the local arcade. Does he like horseback riding? Get him lessons at a local stable. Does he enjoy ax throwing? Send him to a place that does that. No matter what the new dad-to-be enjoys, there is probably a gift card for it. A little time out might be just what he needs to feel a little better.
No matter what you decide to get for your new dad friend, be sure to think of his likes and dislikes. Everyone is a little different. So, just keep that in mind as you shop. No matter what, they will appreciate the time and effort you’ve put into getting them the perfect gift.
