    Redi Shade Simple Fit Custom Shade Review (& Giveaway Ends 11/5)

    Redi Shade Inc. has been a leader in the window shade manufacturing business since 1994.  It was started to offer “temporary shades” as an inexpensive and no-tools required way to cover windows.

    Now even though the Original temporary shade is still a cornerstone of their business, they are still constantly developing new products that are innovative, affordable and easy.

    MY THOUGHTS:

    Now I love the original Redi Shade window treatments, they are the paper peel-and-stick window treatments that people usually have as a temporary window covering or you may have seen them in newly built houses.  I actually had one up for three years and got compliments all the time on it!

    Well now I got the chance to check out a Redi Shade Simple Fit Custom Shade and the first thing I can say is “Wow!”   The website says it is a custom cordless shade that installs in seconds without the use of a drill, screws, or brackets.  All it takes is a push of a button to lock the shade in place (like magic!)  Yes they are custom, but no they are not ridiculously priced either.  For example, a Simple Fit 36” x 72” Light Filtering Cordless Cellular Shade retails for $119.99; a comparable sized one from another company ranges from $140-$180.  It is obviously more expensive than traditional mini-blinds, but they are custom sized to your window and cordless!  I think cordless is especially nice when you have kids around since there are no entrapment issues.  You can also choose what type of shade you want:  Light Filtering or Black-Out.  There are only two color choices available but they do work with any room colors.

    First off ordering the shade was a breeze.  All I did was pick the Window Shade Type, the Quantity, and the width.  The length is automatically 72 inches, but remember you adjust it just by lifting the shade up and down.  Your price is calculated automatically on that window.  The design is a honeycomb pattern and a thicker material; it does not feel cheap or flimsy at all.

    I received my shade in a bout a week and I couldn’t wait to get it out of the box.  The thing I hate most about window treatments is the pain they are to install and align properly.  The Simple Fit shade literally took me minutes, and that included the time it took to take down the cheap aluminum blinds we had up!  All you do is peel the sticker off each ends of the top and stick the shade in place, to adjust you just push the Trigger End Mount inward and it clicks into place.  The website does indicate that it is easy to remove and re-install as well if needed to or wanted to change it to another window.

    I am more than thrilled about how nice the Simple Fit Shade looks and works.  The one I choose lets in enough light to keep the room lit up and is safe is my kids pull or push on it (it doesn’t budge!)  I am able to easily push the shade up or pull it down with ease and the fabric is durable and looks nice.  Having this new shade makes it look like a whole new room!  I really love though how I was able to install the shade myself!  I did it while my husband was at work and waited for him to notice.,he couldn’t believe I did it by myself without any tools or damage to the window trim. I am very impressed with the Redi Shade Simple Fit Custom Shade and when I am ready, I am going to try to get them for all our windows!  I feel confident that they will last and they really do look nice!

      I would love the easy touch light filtering shade. Just bought a new house and need something for my bay window!

      I would pick the “black-out in cream” shades….we have a window in our tv room that leaves a glare on our tv one matter what we have on the window or if we close the curtains, the sun is so strong at times that we just can’t watch tv, hopefully, these black-out shades will work.
