Nothing Between Us
Meera Taylor is ready to start the life she’s always dreamed of. Gone are the days of living out of her car and hiding from her past. With an apartment she can finally call her own and a new career, Meera agrees to give the small town of Morganville a chance at being her forever home.
The only problem? She can’t seem to evade Gabriel Henry, the one man she was told to avoid and yet the same sexy grump who seems hell-bent on stealing her independence—and her heart.
Earning himself a reputation as a womanizer, single dad Gabe has zero interest in settling down. He doesn’t believe in romance or soulmates. He’s well aware of Meera’s less-than-stellar opinion of him, and that’s okay. She isn’t his type anyway. But when Meera’s estranged husband shows up in Morganville, Gabe finds himself coming to her defense and coming lip to lip with what might just be his needle in a haystack.
Honestly, I love a good book that is simple enough to be a beach read but still has depth in its characters and locations. If you close your eyes after reading a few pages of this book you can easily visualize the characters and town they live in, the writer uses the perfect amount of description for everything. Some books I feel like go way too into detail describing non-important things that you can get bored with the story, this book kept me engaged and I wanted more. I honestly feel like there could be a movie made from this book as well.
The storyline is typical girl who tries to not fall for the bad-boy but does. While you can guess the ending of the book there is so much story going on in between the beginning and end. There are so many mini-plots with characters and backgrounds that all intertwine together. This is the first book I have read from this author and now I want to go back and check her other titles. She kept me engaged the whole book and if I wasn’t busy, I could have finished in one day instead of two!
