    Still Loving our LeapPad2

    So last month I reviewed the new LeapPad2 and my boys still love it.  Just the other day I downloaded a Rescue Bots video, Globe Game and Cooking Game, which I absolutely love that they have an app store.  Oh and since we have two LeapPads (one old and one new) they can both have the new apps I purchase on each device!

    Here is a quick re-cap of my LeapPad2 Review:

    Some of my favorite features of the original LeapPad:

    • Games compatible with Leapster Explorer and LeapPad (we have both so its nice not to buy different games)
    • Ability to download games through an App store at reasonable prices
    • Built-in Camera and video recorder
    • Good size for kids to play and hold in their hands
    • Stylus included and can be attached with string

    The new LeapPad 2 has all the above features and then some!

    Main differences between LeapPad 2 and LeapPad:

    • Camera in Front and Back of LeapPad 2 (only 1 camera on back of LeapPad)
    • Bigger Memory Size (4 GB compared to 2 GB)
    • Recharger available
    • Up to 9 hrs. of battery life (compared to only up to 8 hrs.)
    • Bigger Processor (550 Mhz vs. 393 Mhz.)
    Overall, we love the LeapPad 2. It has everything I’d want in a tablet for my preschooler and it will grow with my child. The recommend ages are 3-9 years old and my sons are 4 and 5, with no inkling that they are letting it go. Now I will say I have a friend who her son thought it was too babyish compared to the Nintendo DS his older siblings had, but while it may seem babyish it is more than appropriate for kids. The games and books grow with your child and become more challenging as they continue on. The games are in-line with their ages and you don’t have to worry about in-appropriate content or them doing something you don’t want them to. Oh and once you hook up the LeapPad 2 to the computer you can check your child’s play and learning progress, redeem rewards (print certificates or downloads), and create a personalized learning experience by customizing their name and favorites.

      I like the long battery life. We have a couple of road trips in our future and this would be great. Battery life is good too. Should keep her from wearing down my phone!

      The look of it is most appealing to me because little one will feel like he’s keeping up with dad. In addition to that, I like the built-in camera/video recorder.

      i love the learning games and the camera.I home school my kids and this would be great for the youngest(he is 5).He is also loves taking pictures but makes me nervous using my husband’s nikon.

      I love the long lasting battery and the camera in the front! The kids love taking pictures of themselves and usually we end up with half faces or no facts when they try using a camera turned around 🙂 Thanks for the great giveaway!

      I love that it has the ability to download games through an App store! That is really convenient & a feature my daughter would love. I also like the fact that it has the camera in front too. My daughter is always wanting my phone & computer to take pics of herself & everything else in fact. Lol. I really hope to win this for my Princess <3

      The ability to download apps from store if wanted as well as the camera on it. The longer battery life is awesome too I’d love to upgrade my son from the 1st Leapfrog.

      My favorite features are a toss up between having the recharger available and the fact that the apps can be downloaded so you are not having to go out and buy expensive add on “games” to store and keep track of . This makes TOTAL sense!

      I am interested in the learning capabilities for my 3 year old daughter. My husband wanted to get a WII but I think she’s way too young for that. I think this would make the perfect learning tool for her and still have her enjoy playing with it.

      I love that my explorer games will work on it and that I can check on my sons progess. I alos really like that I can download his pictures onto the campouter so I can share them with family

      I love the solid battery life and the dual cameras! It’s got to be a lot of fun for a little one to be able to interact that way, I’m curious to see how the games take advantage of it.

      I don’t know anything about the features of the LeapPad, but my little girl is mesmerized by the LeapFrog videos. She absolutely loves learning and as a result, I love LeapFrog. I would love to get this for my little girl and tell her it’s an iPad. She would think she was such big stuff!

      I like that the stylus has a tether. Oh how I have looked for a stylus in the past! I also like that it is Mac compatible.

      I would love this for my little preschooler!!! He likes to play with the apps on our phones, and this would be perfect for avoiding meltdowns while out and about!!

      I like the 9 hour battery life. And my son would love the ft and back camera. He loves raking pictures with my phone or tablet when I allow him to. I would never be able to use my phone if genre his way.

      I love that you can download games at a reasonable price. We live in a rural area so going to a store that carries these products, is a pretty big trip (well over an hour one way) so I love the idea of being able to have access to games AT HOME!

      The 9 hours of battery life because I don’t think my niece would enjoy being plugged into one spot. She’d take it everywhere with her.
