Honestly until I drove the Toyota Avalon, I had never heard of that particular model before. I wasn’t sure about it since it seems like a smaller car but it is actually quite roomy and has great pick-up. I loved being able to zoom around town with my kids and yes all three of them fit in the back (including 1 car seat and 1 booster seat.) I was impressed with the sleek design as well, its very sporty!
Features of the Toyota Avalon I found helpful:
The color! This may sound like a strange feature but I really liked the burgundy color (Sizzling Crimson to be exact) and have never seen it on a car before. It was super nice to be able to spot this car in a crowded parking lot amongst all the other mid-size cars.
Back seat arm rest and door to trunk – When I had just two kids with me, they loved using the cup holders in the console back there. Then it was pretty neat to have a door to the trunk especially when we were carting around my son’s hockey sticks! Not sure what else we’d use this for since its a small door but it was something unique and I’m sure there is a bigger purpose for it.
Air vents for back seats – I always feel bad for the back seat when there are no vents back there to blare air or heat. I like that this was a good height as well so it reached the back passengers nicely.
Qi-compatible charger for wireless smartphone charging – This is such a cool feature that makes me want to go out and buy a new phone that is Qi-capable. I bet in 5 years or so every car will have something like this but this Toyota model was the first one I’ve ever driven that had it.
Heated seats – This is a must in cold states like Chicago in the winter!
Charging ports that are easily accessible
Key Fob so no key required – super nice for when I have my hands full and the keys were in my bag. The car is also push button start.
Deep driver console – lots of room for storage
Moonroof – even though I never open moonroof’s in the cars I drive, I love that extra light coming in.
So many features at the touch of the screen
Yes I said touch! The Nav and App screen is touch as well as the buttons around it. It did take me a few tries before I remembered I didn’t have to push a button, just tap it with my finger.
Lots of info on the dashboard with the button on the steering wheel to adjust
Easy phone app – I loved being able to tap the number on the screen rather my phone. It’s the little things, right?
Tire rims – these just looked snazzy to me and I love the black color.
Heated outside mirrors with turn signals – again heat is nice in cold states since those mirrors can build up with ice in the winter and extra turn signals are always helpful.
