So I finally did it. I purchased my own domain name! I have been thinking about it for awhile and I did it, and you know what…It was so EASY! I know it can be confusing out there when looking for a domain company but I found one that I love,1&1.com. I actually read about this company in PC Magazine, my husband is a computer programmer so we have a subscription. Anyways, I checked out there site and it is only $6.99 for a year! You can also get a .biz name for free if you are considering your blog or website a business. Then all I had to do was go to my Google Blogger account and change it to a custom domain and they will link people that go to mamasmoneysavers.blogspot.com to mamasmoneysavers.com.
Oh and not only do you get the domain name (.com,.net,.biz,.mobi,.name…), you can also receive domain access without the www (so people can just type your website name and .com), 2gb mailbox with an email address at your website.com, sitebuilding tools, support, and more….I have not tried out their sitebuilding tools yet because I use Google Blogger but I am going to play around with them when I work on my mother-in-laws website.
I think I will also set up another domain with just pictures because with 2 kids, people are always asking for pictures so it would be nice for me to just upload pics and then whenever my friends and family want to see us they can go to a picture blog. But one thing at a time, right?1? So, anyways if you were thinking about signing up for a domain you better hurry because when you are ready the name you want might be taken. For example, my mother-in-law has her own personal training business and the name of her company was already taken so I had to change the name a little bit to register her a domain.
