I cannot imagine what my librarians think of me when I go in to pick up the books I have reserved. I read everything and anything and lately my book holds have been quite interesting. My usual interests are True Crime books, I know that’s unusual to begin with. I just can’t get enough of killer / violent True Crime books, and I don’t know why. Maybe I just like to keep myself in check that there is violence out there and it can happen to anyone or maybe I just enjoy non-fiction. Anyways so True Crime was the only books I usually took out.
Then came my son and I started getting kids dvds and books. Gee what my librarian was thinking when she saw me with a Wiggles dvd and the Susan Smith story. Then when I was pregnant with my second child I added some pregnancy books to my mix. Then my husband started Graduate School so he needs all kinds of management and leadership books and audiobooks. For each class I would get him some related titles to help him with the papers he has to write for his homework.
Next my 24 month old started to worry me with his eating habits, so I checked out a million books on feeding your toddler and sneaking in nutrition! Which by the way I got some excellent recipes and tidbits from these books that I hope to share! Anyways, then I figured I was going to try to beef up my blog and I checked out a handful of books on designing and maintain blogs.
So here I am with my True Crime, kids books and dvds, business books, cookbooks, and “Blogging for Dummies” books and I am not even done yet. I am constantly thinking “Oh I should learn more about ….” so I go to my library’s website and place the book on hold and next time I stop in (after I have forgotten that I ordered it!) I pick up my titles. It is a joke when I go in I think because they always ask me if I brought a bag with!
Well what can I say I love to read and I have weird tastes. I am by no means a closed minded person and I love to skim books and if I like them I read them. I also figure that my tax dollars are going to the library and that is what it is there for so I use it. I could just sit in the library for hours if time allowed, but in real life I just catch a chapter here and there and hope I remember to bring the book back in time to avoid that $.10 a day late fee!

I am glad to know I am not the only one. Thats too funny! Wow, 2 weeks only. I get them for 3-4 weeks and I can renew them then.

You crack me up! I do the same thing it’s so nice to have someone pull the books for you plus having more then one library for thier resources. I’m more of the murder/mystery with a funny leading women. But now I add in trains and plans and other fun things. I’m sure they get a giggle out of it ;).

I’m a librarian…and I’ll tell you, we (or maybe it’s just me!) don’t pay attention to what people have on hold. LOL. Although, I always look at book. It might be something I’m interested in! 🙂 It always cracks me up to have people come in with their overdue books, and those books are about getting organized.
Libraries love their patrons…so keep using your library!

I also wonder that same thing! I am always reserving books on all different topics. I usually have 10-16 books out at once. The library totally rocks.
