Yanni Voices CD Review

Okay so to be honest, my only thoughts of Yanni was a guy who played classical music and had a long ponytail. That was my extent of Yanni, until just recently when I was given the opportunity to check out his new CD, “Yanni Voices.” Now I am always open to trying out new things, and music is no exception. So when I received the CD, I immediately popped it into my CD player and couldn’t believe how nice it sounded.

Now usually Yanni music is strictly instrumental, with Yanni Voices it is the first time that his music has been brought to life with vocals. If you liked Yanni before, then you will be in for a big surprise when you hear his music with words. It is amazing how nicely the words sung by these wonderful singers blend in with his instrumental music. The singers are: Nathan Pacheco, Leslie Mills, Chloe, and Ender Thomas. There are 17 songs on the CD and it even includes an awesome bonus dvd: Making of Yanni Voices featuring Tour Highlights. So not only do you get this great CD but you also get a DVD to see the CD in action.

Now back to the CD, so I was actually really surprised that I enjoyed it. I am more of a classic rock, and some pop, never do I listen to classical music. Well this CD to me is not really classical music, it is more of an Easy Listening CD. I like to listen to it to relieve stress or as background music when I am on the computer. It is such a soothing yet upbeat CD that it seems to work wonders for me. I definetly recommend listening to a few songs and you will see where I am coming from. It was just so easy to listen to and really put me in a good mood. The CD jacket includes a bio of each artist and some nice colorful pictures.
