Saving money is always important, but at Christmas time when I have about 15 people to shop for, it is especially important to get good deals. To save money there is a few things I do.
• I shop early! Throughout the year I buy gifts if they are priced so good I can’t pass it up. Just make sure it would go bad (food) and if you are buying for a child remember that their favorite character may not be their favorite by the time Christmas comes around.
• I shop online and use cash back sites like Upromise, Ebates, and Shop At Home and go with whichever one pays the highest percent! I never shop without first checking to see if I can earn some money back, I also use shop with a credit card that I earn a percentage back on!
• I sell and buy on Ebay and Half.com. I sell old items that we don’t use anymore and check to see what deals I can find for others!
• We earn 1% cashback on our Discover cards, at I save them all year and then cash-out for giftcards for Christmas presents!
• I have shopped on Black Friday, but it has been too crazy this year and last, that I went out and came right back home!
• I use up any gift cards I have laying around!
• I cash-out any money I have accumulated from survey companies. (See list here)
One store / website that I always forgot about is Staples. Like right now they have Duracell batteries Free after rebate! This will come as a Staples merchandise credit but they always have Free after rebate items on sale so I am not worried. I also buy my printer ink and paper there so I am not worried about not using the Staples credit. They also don’t just have office supplies! Check here for Staples Holiday Savings
