There are so many dog movies out there, that it was only natural for there to be a Christmas movie starring a dog. Well “The Dog Who Saved Christmas” is a new movie that was originally released this year as part of ABC Family’s 25 Days of Christmas series. Yes it was a made for TV movie, so it does have its cheesy parts, but overall we enjoyed it.
Starring Dean Cain and the voice of Mario Lopez, the movie is basically Home Alone, but instead a Macaulay Culkin, there is Zeus the dog. My sons enjoyed it even though they didn’t understand it, they liked the dog especially since it reminds them of my parents dog. The movie had ups and downs, but it is a nice family Christmas movie to watch together and I am sure we will be watching it next year! If you don’t have kids or you are not a dog lover, then you probably won’t like this movie, but if you are looking for a family movie to watch at Christmastime, The Dog Who Saved Christmas is cute!
Description:
The Bannister family’s new addition, Zeus (voiced by Mario Lopez) a former K-9 police hero, appears to be less than the dependable guard dog the family needs. However, when two burglars (led by Dean Cain) set out to break into the Bannister’s home while they’re away for Christmas, Zeus seizes the chance to be a hero, proving every dog – even this one – has his day.
