    ABOUT THE APP:

    Come to the Grand Parade of the International Banana Festival! Join the noisy crowd watching a police car roll past, its siren blaring. Watch a drill team march along, a festival princess waving to the crowd, and people in banana bonnets walking by. Hear the music of a marching band, the clang-clang of a fire engine, and the toot-toot-puff-puff of a little train. Dance along with the Latin band and pretend to zoom around in tiny cars with the clowns!

    Young children, parents, teachers, and librarians love this story because even the youngest listeners can participate in its telling. They love to say, “But that wasn’t the best part,” as they make their way to the mouth-watering surprise ending.

    MY REVIEW:

    I think this interactive book is adorable.  I love that you can click on 1-3 parts of the screen for additional sound effects, which is Aidan’s favorite part!  The narrator also has a great voice for narrating a children’s book and his speed is just right for kids.  The pictures and graphics throughout the story are very colorful and neat looking, and the story is actually quite long.  There is a police car, fire engine, train, parade scenes, and so much going on in this cute story about what happens at a parade.  It is super easy to navigate this book as you just slide the screen for the next page and just click on the dark black words for sound effects.  You can also turn off the narrator, if you would like.  Overall, I think this App is adorable for both boys and girls of all ages!

      My kids use their iPod and iPhone for games, online for homework, caculator, they even use the gps on it when needed and of coarse for music and social networking.

      We use the I pod by showing them short videos, playing games, and we have a few learning apps that are like flash cards.

      I have several story apps for my little ones, and an ABC flashcard app. My older son like to play games like Crabby Abby. (Or is it Abby Crabby?)

      HONESTLY, my hubby and kids have these “toys” and i DONT! NOT FAIR!(my kids saved up ALL their birthday and Christmas money to buy their own). I have to ask THEM to try things on theirs!

      We play games. Tons – like SpongeBob, Rats, monkey bash. It’s the best way to keep them occupied when waiting.

      Thank you for reviewing “But That Wasn’t the Best Part.” As you said, one of the fun things kids like to do, in addition to hearing the story, is play the sound effects.       We love to use the sesame street line up or some of the flash card apps to keep her entertained in the car.
