ABOUT:
The design team at Munchkin has partnered with Arm & HammerTM to create the new Arm & HammerTM Diaper Pail, designed specifically with mom in mind. Bags are easy to load, and tossing dirty diapers is quick and easy. The patented self-sealing system tightly seals the bag and locks odors away, while the Arm & Hammer® baking soda cartridge safely absorbs odors and dispenses natural baking soda each time the lid is closed. A full cartridge lasts over 90 days, and refilling is simple (no need for a separate deodorizer). Each bag holds up to 25 diapers and is easy to snap, seal and toss when full.
The pail comes fully assembled and includes 3 Arm & Hammer® Diaper Pail Refill Bags. The odor-eliminating power of Arm & Hammer® baking soda combined with this clever and easy-to-use design make The Arm & HammerTM Diaper Pail by Munchkin® the perfect diaper pail system for today’s busy parents and caregivers.
MY THOUGHTS:
Thanks to Mom Central, this is the second diaper pail I got the chance to review and there are some pros and cons to it. First off, it was pretty much put together right out of the box. All I had to do was install the bag inside. This pail is relatively shorter than I expected but it is very simple to operate. Just snap in the bag inside, which has a plastic ring on it that snaps in. It is not a complicated refill pack, but they are individual and need to each be snapped in. I will say though that I do like the Arm & Hammer part to it which after opening and closing the diaper pail, it dispenses baking soda. You just fill the cartridge yourself every few months.
So for pros go, I like how easy the cartridges snap in. I like that they hold a good amount of diapers and are easy to dispose of. The baking soda is very refreshing and definitely keeps the smell out. I have not noticed any smell at all which is a definite plus!
As far as cons go, I am not fond of the size first of all as I said it is shorter so I have to bend down. Next, I am not fond of how you have to open it. You need to clip the handle and pull up, which was a little difficult to do one handed. I am not a fan either of how easy it is to open as you just click the thing on the front to open. My boys think it is funny to open it and pull on the bag or leave small toys in there. Finally you do have to really push a diaper in to get it down.
Overall, I am not sure if I would buy this diaper pail, but it does do the job of keeping smells out. It is reasonably priced as are the refills.
