    MY THOUGHTS:

    I have wondered before why there wasn’t a product like the Finish Quantumatic, I mean something that stays in the dishwasher and automatically dispenses detergent sounds awesome to me.  I have been known to forget to add the detergent all together or I overfill it and have a soapy residue on my dishes, this way a pre-measure amount automatically dispenses.  We also run the dishwasher in my house maybe two times a week so this product is going to last us six weeks at least!

    Yes it is a little expensive the first time you buy it ($9.99) but that is because it comes with the dispenser and refill, after that you can get a refill 2-pack for 24 washes for $10.99.  So basically for us at least, the refills that cost $10.99 would last me 3 months, which is only about $4 a month, which is definitely reasonable to me.  (There is also a refill 3-pack to save even more!)  For the peace of mind that I using a high-quality product and I don’t have to worry about forgetting or overfilling, this product is one of my favorites!

    I have used the Finish Quantumatic combined with Finish Jet-Dry Turbo Dry for four dishwasher loads so far and I am impressed.  It definitely has some cleaning power in them and does leave my dishes pretty spotless (I did have a few crusted dishes but I don’t think that could have been helped due to what was on them.)  We also pretty much never pre-rinse so I think this product is definitely working hard in there!  What is nice too is that as I am loading my dishwasher the Finish Quantumatic has an intelligent counter on top that shows the number of washes left and indicates when it needs to be changed out.  I would definitely recommend the Finish Quantamtic and Jet Dry, as well as all the other Finish products which I have had positive experiences with in the past!

    BUY IT: The SRP for Turbo Dry 6.76oz in the Grocery Channel is $4.49 and in Mass (Wal-Mart/TGT) is $3.59. The suggested retail price for a Finish Quantumatic dispenser and refill with12 washes is $9.99; a refill 2 pack with 24 washes is $10.99; a refill 3 pack with 36 washes is $15.49.

      We shorten the time by not transferring food into “serving bowls” – we just use the pots they were cooked in. Our kids don’t mind, especially since they are the ones responsible for clearing the table and doing the dishwasher.

      I shorten clean up time by trying to clean up as much as I can while I go – putting things away as I make dinner, putting cooking dishes in the sink to soak/in the dishwasher before sitting down to eat, having everyone clear their own plates, etc.

      I shorten up time after a meal by not cooking! lol Ok, ok, I can’t do that all the time, but I do shorten up after meal time by making it a family effort. If we all work together, it takes less time and we can move on to family fun activities sooner!

      befriended on google, like Facebook! I like to ensure that the dishwasher is ready for dirty dishes before dinner that way as soon as we are done eating we can just send the dirty dishes right into the machine and cleaning done!!

      you do NOT want to hear this, but when our schedules are SO busy with ball games or practice every night…we use paper plates. YIKES…I know this is TERRIBLy UN Green! We purchase an expensive appliance for the first time every…a really “good” brand dishwasher and it does an AWFUL job of cleaning! Were told to use a certain brand of detergent..now am wondering if THAT is the problem!

      To shorten the amount of time spent cleaning up after a meal, I typically clean as I cook, so that afterwards there is not as much too clean.

      I shorten the amount of time spent cleaning up by trying to clean my cooking mess up as I go. Also, slave labor helps. My boys have to clear the table and load the dishwasher. They’re not very fast, but *I* don’t spend as much time on it, which is the point.

      The trick for me seems to be getting it all done right away. Most will be loaded into the dishwasher while the pots and pans sometimes will sit and wait handwashing. It’s more of a pain to have to go back into the kitchen and do that later.

      I shorten up the clean-up time by involving other family members in the helping. Who says it only needs to be one person to clear the table. Put the left overs away, or even to load the dishwasher. Get everyone that’s old enough involved in some way. Make it a routine so everyone knows that’s it’s expected daily.

      I ask that everyone rinse off the plates and place them in the dishwasher and prior to thet i place dishes in the dishwasher as i dirty them
