ABOUT:
The Pocket Purifier is a handheld germicidal light made by Purely Products. It is lightweight and convenient and also has a flashlight on it. The purpose of the Pocket Purifier is to sanitize surfaces and objects using the same UV-C light that sterilizes surgical instruments. Ultraviolet light and nanotechnology eliminate 99.9% of germs that cause colds, flu, e-coli, salmonella, mold, fungus, and MRSA (staph.) It can be used on all high-touch surfaces at home, work, or in public. It is the most environmentally responsible way to kill germs without chemicals.
Pocket Purifier Features:
- Incorporates ultraviolet light and nanotechnology to eliminate 99.9% of germs that cause colds, and flu, plus e-coli, salmonella, mold, fungus and MRSA staph (Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus Aureus)
- Built in 4-watt germicidal ultraviolet light deactivates the DNA of bacteria, viruses and other pathogens destroying their ability to multiply
- Suitable for purifying masks, kitchen counters, sinks and utensils, bathroom surfaces, computer keyboards, remote controls, cell phones, nail clippers, shoes, clothing, bags, scissors, baby toys, pacifiers, diaper pails, cribs, strollers – most everyday items. UV light will not harm function of surfaces or items disinfected.
- Powered by 4 (AA) batteries for easy carrying and safe usage (Batteries not included)
- Convenient, lightweight, quick and easy to use
- Suitable for disinfecting most everyday items with exposure of 10-15 seconds.
- Available in convenient single, double and family-friendly four packs
- UV-C bulb effective for 9,000 hours
Purely Products also makes it easier to make monitoring sun exposure for your family a healthy living habit. SunMate™ puts information on the intensity of ultraviolet rays right in the palm of your hand, so you can make preventive decisions on sun care protection. So sun-savvy in fact, the compact, lightweight SunMate was named “Best Beach Tech” by Shape Magazine (May 2009).
SunMate Features:
- Alerts to possible over-exposure to ultraviolet rays from the sun
- Easy to use and understand.
- Simply press the white button located at the top of the monitor
- LED indicators light up between 1 and 5 depending upon the intensity of the UV light (see chart above and on packaging)
- Easy to carry and pack in beach bags, diaper bags, purses, sports bags, backpacks- just 2.5″ tall and 2″ wide.
- Take your ‘mate’ wherever you go
- Colors: White
MY THOUGHTS:
Okay so I try not to think about germs and what is on the surfaces I touch, but now that my sons have been getting sick every other week I am more aware. My son’s pacifier, the phone, public toilet (we are potty training), grocery cart, my purse bottom, our shoes, my son’s backpack – germs are everywhere! Now I am not saying to become a germaphobe, but it was nice for me to use the Pocket Purifier on small surfaces. It is basically the size of a remote or cordless phone and you just turn it on and hold it for 10 seconds on an item. It is meant to be a handheld germ killer so it is more for smaller items (although bigger items you could do but it would take awhile to get the entire surface.)
Now I can’t say obviously if it is working or not because I don’t have a magnifier to see the germs but I figure it doesn’t hurt and I can only hope it is doing its job. I figure any germs I can get rid of, the better off we are. I just read that phones have more than 25,000 germs per square inch so I am definitely using this on our phones as much as possible since we all touch them, my boys mainly playing with them! It also requires 4 “AA” batteries, which it does not come with. The flashlight on it is a nice added convenience.
I also tested out the SunMate and found it interesting. It is just a small white device that you push a button and it tells you how bad the UV rays are. This would be nice for someone very concerned about sun exposure. I typically lather us in sunscreen anyways or just stay inside if it seems to be sunny or beaming hot out. For example, yesterday we were in the high 90’s here and I tested it and it read a 4, luckily my yard is very shaded so we played for a little bit outside but then came in. The size is nice because it is small enough to toss in your purse, diaper bag, or beach bag. This device is ready to use right out of the package!
I think it is great too that a percentage of every Purely Products sale supports diaperLove, a non-profit providing diapers to children in need.

After much research albeit a little too late. I advise my family NOT to get vaccinations and if I could do it over again I would have found out if our state had an objection clause to not getting my children innoculated or had home schooled them. But, now I advocate that they never be allowed to be vaccinated again. This in the long run will keep us healthy while others won’t be as fortunate. Also we stear clear of Aspertame and I try to tell as many people I know on the dangers of this poison. Thanks for a great giveaway!

Hi @Mamasmoney readers. Patricia here from Purely Products. Thanks for participating. I wanted to respond about “not knowing if it’s working” (which naturally is what everybody says – how could you just by looking? : )
This may clarify and help explain why Pocket Purifier truly is a germ killer.
• UV-C light sterilizes biological pollutants by penetrating the cell membranes of viruses, bacteria, mold spores and dust mite eggs and stopping their reproductive capabilities – eliminating the disease-causing microbes. (Their DNA literally cannot reproduce)
• UV disinfectant has been used in hospitals, food processing facilities, water treatment and HVAC systems for over 30 years.
Hope this helps. We all want our environment less germy using less chemicals and our families healthier, right? Thanks again everyone! Patricia

Right now it’s not too hard to keep the kids from germs since we are mostly home and I ensure that my home is in good condition, however soon D is going to school and things will change, so I’ll have to be even more vigilant. For now I use clorox wipes and keep door knobs clean and hands always have to be washed before eating, after coming home from wherever etc.

I honestly believe that exposure to some germs is important for kids, or for anybody, really. They are a fact of life, and we need some exposure for our bodies to learn to deal with them. However, that doesn’t mean we need to leave ourselves vulnerable to sickness unnecessarily, so we do use hand sanitizer when we are out, especially after a trip to a public bathroom. I also keep a small can of Lysol in my car and tote bag and use it to spray any belongings (like my purse) that may have come into contact with some yucky stuff. Just makes me feel a bit better!
Thanks…this is a great giveaway!
