MY THOUGHTS:
Now I am not an animal lover, but I liked the Life DVD series. The way the DVD captures all the animals from over 50 countries, is amazing. The animals are captured in their environment showing how they interact and survive. I was amazed at all the animals, many I had never really seen before. Now Oprah Winfrey does narrate, which is not someone I think is a good fit. I didn’t really pay attention though and just paid attention to the animals.
It is pretty amazing to watch and sucks you in! My sons really enjoy this DVD set as they are mesmerized by the animals. I sometimes just put it on in the background on mute for my kids to watch while they play. I do want to add that there are survival scenes where animals are fighting or attacking their prey, but I figure it is a fact of life and explain to my sons that it is how animals survive, not people! Overall I thoughit the DVD was a great watch and with four DVDs and over 400 minutes there is plenty of footage to keep you busy. Also, if you are not an Oprah Winfrey fan, don’t let that stop you from checking out this DVD!
