ABOUT:
David Liederman was a top chef in New York City back in 1979 who brought the boutique cookie craze from the West Coast over to the East Coast. He opened David’s Cookies in Manhattan and customers quickly fell in love with his oven fresh cookies that were loaded with heaping chunks )not chips, of chocolate. With a background in Fresh culinary, he only used the finest, all natural, ingredients – pure vanilla, butter, Swiss chocolate and whole nuts.
The company grew but with the changing economy, many of the over 250 David’s Cookie stores closed down. To keep the brand alive an online cookie store was opened and David’s Cookies is now the leading provider of fresh baked cookies on the Internet. They have won many awards, including the Good Housekeeping Magazine 10 Best Mail-order Goodies for Giving (or Serving.)
MY THOUGHTS:
When I first checked out David’s Cookies I was looking for a gift for someone. I expected to find a few cookie choices, but I was wrong. David’s Cookies has not only fresh-baked cookies, but also brownies and crumbcakes, cheesecakes, cookie dough, truffle cakes, and more! Then they also have many different varieties within each category, including sizes and flavors! Looking for a gift? David’s Cookies has Monthly Clubs, Seasonal Treats, Baskets, and Tins to choose from. I particularly like the Monthly Club option which each month the person will receive a 1lb or 2lb. tin of a certain cookie – something different every month!
I got the chance to check out the Fresh Baked Cookies 2lb. Tin and was definitely pleasantly surprised.
Try two pounds of yummy gourmet cookies and take your taste buds on an exciting adventure. We’ve got lots of delicious flavors included in this pack: Chocolate Chunk, Peanut Butter, Oatmeal Raisin, Macadamia White Chip, Cherry, and Double Chocolate Chunk. Our product tastes home-made and fresh like mama made, comes in a collectible David’s Cookies tin and is shipped free. Please note the Macadamia Cookies include Coconut
Approximately 24, 1.5 oz cookies
2 lb red tin
Fresh baked with no preservatives
Retail: $33.95
This cookie tin was like a slice of heaven to me. It contained all my favorites, with Macadamia White Chip being number one! All 24 of the cookies were so fresh, soft, and I love that there was a nice variety. Since the cookies do not contain preservatives, they do not taste like store brand bought but they also need to be frozen or eaten up quickly! Neither was a problem for me! The cookies took two days to receive and wee delivered in-tact.
Now I know ordering cookies online may seem strange or expensive, but it does have its benefits. With David’s Cookies you know you are sending or receiving only fresh baked cookies in the flavor or assortment you choose. You also get a nice red tin which you can easily reuse! Oh and you get free shipping! I also can’t imagine baking cookies and shipping them to someone myself, I would rather leave it up to the experts!
David’s Cookies also offers unique gifts. My kids would absolutely love the Play Cookie Dough which you play with and can bake your own cookie creations. The David’s Classic Collection comes with two tubs each of four big flavors! The Assorted Mini Cheesecakes come with twelve “mini” gourmet cheesecakes in four traditional flavor styles. Finally another product I thought was neat is the Gift Tower varieties, which just look adorable on the outside!
I also want to add that David’s Cookies are made with or around peanuts so to be on the safe side if you have a peanut allergy, you probably should not take the risk. linkytool
