    ABOUT:

    Take a summer vacation in your living room. Power on your Wii and enter a tropical paradise where you can enjoy exciting water-based sports and other activities using either the Wii Balance Board or standard remote. Compete against your family and friends in everything from water skiing to surfing and fire and hula dancing.

    Features:

    • Eight unique vacation-style games: Slalom Skiing, Hula Dancing, Wake Boarding, Surfing, Stand Up Paddling, Ski Distance Jumping, Fire Dancing, and Water Stunt Park.
    • Wii Balance Board: Use your whole body to play or use the Wii remote instead.
    • Four-Player Party: Challenge your friends for the best times/scores or have them join the fun in co-op play modes.
    • Character Customization: Over 20 unique character profiles to choose from.
    • Earn Sand Dollars: Used to unlock customizable features and hidden levels.

    MY THOUGHTS:

    The thing that really appealed to me about this game is that it is compatible with the Wii Balance Board, but you do not have to have one to play this game.  I will say though it will not be nearly as much fun without the Wii Balance Board, but it is still fun.  The game is really easy to set up, just pick your character and clothes then start exploring.  There are 8 games to choose from but within each game is different levels, I am still on Easy!  A few of the games are similar but I didn’t mind as there really are only so many ways to stand and move with the Wii Balance Board.  I really liked the Ski Distance Jumping and my sons thought it was cool to watch.  The dancing, both Hulu and Fire, were fun and challenging and definitely my next favorites.  By playing each game you obviously get ranked but you also earn sand dollars to buy items and unlock levels within the Surf Shack.  You can play up to 4 players with this game but so far no one has had the chance to play with me so I can’t speak for multi-player but I do love that the game includes that option.  The graphics are bright and fun and really give off an island vibe.  This would be a great game for families, as a party game, or anyone just looking to get up and move around!

      I love to lay under the beach umbrellas and relax. Enjoying the sounds of the beach. Our children love to go out at night with a flashlight and chase sand crabs.

      I love going to the beach but can’t get into the water as I am allergic to the salt in the ocean.

      We are in a landlocked state and have limited access to beaches, but since we are huge volleyball fans, I know beach volleyball would be a huge hit!

      Favorite beach activity: Lounging in a comfy chair under a beach umbrella with a great book 🙂 I also love digging in the sand with my grandson, playing in the waves, football in the sand, and roasting hot dogs over a beach fire!
