    iTunes App Review: Sprout Pregnancy Essentials (& App – 20 Winners! /iPod Touch Giveaway Ends 11/19)

    • Prepare for Doctor Visits:  Create a list of questions for doctor visits by clicking on symptoms, questions or other topics to discuss.
    • Week by Week Advice:  Every week medical advice and helpful tips are provided, written by doctors, the information is comprehensive yet concise.
    • Pregnancy Checklist:  Comprehensive checklists to help you prepare for the hospital and bringing home your baby.

    MY THOUGHTS:

    First off, I want to say I am not pregnant currently but I am not done either having babies and I love the idea of an App to help pregnant moms!

    When you first open this App, you enter in your Due Date or Last Period.  It then goes to a screen showing what your baby looks like, saying how old your baby is, what Trimester, and how many days to go!  You can click on a few spots on the screen to learn more about certain things that are happening with your cells and hormones.  The bottom of the App has five menu buttons:  My Baby, Doctor Says, Organizer, Tools, and More.  The Doctor says has more information to read about the week you are on with your baby.  Organizer has a doctor visits planner, to do list, newborn esentials and more.  I really like the Tools section which tracks your weight, baby kicks, and contractions.  I was always curious about weight I was gaining and how often the baby kicked.  I actually can’t really think of anything that I feel is missing from this App right now as it has the important questions and features.  Oh and the 3D baby images are truly amazing with how detailed they are and how they are also interactive.  Sprout Pregnancy Essentials is really a great app, although I admit to being bias and not having any other apps to compare this too.

      I would think that the timeline would be a very useful tool, especially for someone having a child for the first time. The kick counter would be a fun tool to use.

      I would love the weekly advice and that you can look up symptoms because there are always so many questions. “what to expect while you are expecting” is great. However, this app seems more convenient. There truly is an app for everything!

      My favorite part of the Sprout Pregnancy Essential APP is the “Prepare for your doctor visits” feature. It is so hard to remember everything you want to ask the doctor in such a short amount of time. GREAT TOOL!!

      I like the week by week, this would have been helpful when we was expecting our daughter. Now that we are trying to conceive baby 2 this would be great.

      I like the preparation notes for the doctor visits. It’s always such a good idea to try and cover all bases and ask the right questions, and having those reminders would be great when there’s already so much going on. Much less chance to forget important points.
      The whole app looks very helpful.

      I think that the “Prepare For Your Doctor Visits” is a really important App. I’m the grandmother of 2 with another on the way, so I’ve told my daughter-in-law about this App site.

      I love that you can keep track of your doctor’s visit. Toward the end of a pregnancy, there are a lot of visits and your mind starts to slip (at least mine did).

      I’m not currently pregnant (but i have baby fever).

      I’d say the kick counter and the contraction timer are both really good. Having high risk pregnancies, these are two things that I really have to be aware of.
