Now that I have one of my boys back in school, it is not as hectic around here in the mornings. I can now take my time getting ready that is of course after I take Aidan to school! My morning routine is usually feed the kids, take a quick shower before kids finish eating, get kids dressed, check my email over a cup of juice and drive Aidan to school. Some days I will run errands with Gavin but most of the time I just come right back home. I then blowdry my hair, put on some makeup, maybe paint my toes, or just relax a little bit while I just have Gavin. I know it sounds dumb for me to fix up my hair and put on some makeup when I am mostly at home with the kids, but it makes me feel better and it is well deserved “me time.”
In the past month or so I have been writing about some fabulous experiments (ketchup, grass, and ring around the collar) with Wisk laundry detergent, and this last one is about “Oil Stains.” To prepare for my oil stains experiment, I was sent some products to explore some “me time,”
First off, I should explain what oil stains are. Well they come in all shapes and sizes, from kids snacks (peanut butter and apples) to salad dressings; however, oil stains are not limited just to foods. Yes lip gloss is categorized as an oil stain! So my assignment was to apply so yummy lip gloss and gently blot my lips with a hand towel. Now this is something I normally do anyways and if I happen to use a colored lip gloss instead of clear, then I do usually stain my hand towels.
So after I blotted my lips, sure enough there was a pink lips mark left on the hand towel. I was to then pre-treat the stain with some Wisk by scrubbing it in for about 30 seconds. Then just rinse the towel under warm water. Amazingly the lips stain came out and it was on the first try! I love that I didn’t have to struggle to get the stain out and I don’t have to throw away any more hand towels! I am now keeping a bottle of Wisk upstairs for small stains like that so I can pre-treat them right away. So now I have essentially more “me time” since I don’t have to worry about stains as much and can focus on myself, at least for a few minutes!
