    MY THOUGHTS:

    Every year my sister and I make Christmas cookies, and every year I am searching for something to package them in to bring to people’s houses.  I usually put them on a thciker paper plate and cover with plastic wrap but as you may know that doesn’t always hold nor does it look very nice.  I actually never thought of packaging my cookies in Rubbermaid TakeAlongs and decorating them with Sharpie markers – what a great idea!  Rubbermaid TakeAlongs are also very affordable and by buying a big box I have enough to hand out and keep a few containers for myself!  Dressing up the containers with Sharpie markers is an awesome idea and really doesn’t have to stop at just Christmas, anytime you bring over something to someone decorating the container gives it that extra special touch – I am thinking Valentines Day, birthdays, Easter, and more!

    So here are three septs to create the perfect gift for your neighbors, friends and family with Sharpie and Rubbermaid:

    • Step One – Decorate Rubbermaid TakeAlongs with Sharpie Markers.  Be as creative and unique as you want.
    • Step Two – Bake your favorite holiday goodies.  Cookies, fudges, chocolates, and brownies are all super yummy!

    Overall I really like the Rubbermaid TakeAlongs and can’t believe I have never tried them before.  They come in great sizes, have measuring marks on the sides, and the lid clicks in place so you know its tight.  I also love how the Rubbermaid containers are durable enough for using over and over and yet cheap enough that if I loose one or it gets too dirty I don’t mind throwing them away!

      My favourite cookie is a christmas roll made with minature marshmallows,cherries,nuts, condensed milk and graham cracker crumbs. I look forward to them each year.

      I like them all! But my latest favorite is the Chocolate Sambuca cookie. I found the recipe online and they are pretty easy to make. The hardest thing is finding a small bottle of Sambuca.

      Oh, come on! I have to have just ONE favorite cookie??

      My mother makes these things called Date Nut cookies. Half the time they flop because the dough is a pain in the neck to work with. It is a rolled, filled dough, a spiral, pinwheel cookie. Wonderful. When it flops, we just scoop up the mess and drop it on the cookie sheet and bake little mounds of junk. They still taste good.

      Well, this isn’t really a Christmas cookie, but I make it for Christmas every year: it’s a dark chocolate cookie with nuts (any nuts you choose–almonds are great, though!) and dried cherries. They’re chewy and chocolately and, best of all, low calorie!

      My mother-in law makes these delicious Christmas Cake balls every year… I have still not gotten the recipe, but they are to die for! Chocolate cake, white frosting, and red-white-and-green sprinkles. I can’t wait for them again this year!

      I love gingerbread cookies! I use TakeAlongs to store small craft supplies, but I never thought about decorating them with Sharpies to use as a gift container! (I work for Rubbermaid so don’t enter me in your drawing.)
