Rug Shopping…Maybe

In my house I have a Family Room and a Living Room.  Our Living Room is the first room you pass as you enter the front door, yet it has our very old couches, coffee table and rug in it.  Don’t get me wrong, the couches are still in awesome condition but the coffee table and rug are old and worn.  Our coffee table with matching end tables have worn finish on the top but because of the design I was told it wouldn’t be easy to sand down and re-stain.  Our rug was a very expensive rug that my dad received as part of his payment for putting up a new roof on the building, but it is about 15 years old.  I have tried to carpet clean it, but it doesn’t really help.

So I have decided to check out some of the modern rugs out there now and see if it is within our budget.  I am hoping to find one that matches our purple suede couches, yes they are purple.  I also don’t want to spend a lot because it is a room we rarely are in, but I feel like it is the first room people see so it should look nice.  I know though that rugs can be expensive and this is definitely not a priority just yet.
