So for the past four years now my husband has been in graduate school working towards his MBA. He only goes one day a week with summers off so it is taking forever! He did originally consider online universities but after realizing his work was going to pay half and that a prestigious college would come to his corporate campus, he decided to go away from an online degree.
I do think an online college education is a great option though for so many people because with families, work commitments, money and flexibility, an online university is the only chance for some. I actually considered it for myself before I started blogging just to keep myself educated and busy. I always loved school, which is funny because I rushed to graduate in four years whereas others stretched out their college lives. The idea that I could take classes and ones that I was actually interested in after my kids go to bed sounded great to me. I did worry though how tough the classes would be since they are online and I am a visual learner, but then again I also love technology and online seemed pretty cool. I also worried about the credits transferring and whether or not they would be recognized by potential employers.
Since I am not going back into the job market anytime soon, I decided to give the thought a break and focus on my blog for now. Maybe once my kids are in school full time I can think about a future job and education but right now I figure there is no hurry.
