So the other day I had a million kids (okay that’s exaggerating but there was a lot) ranging from 2-10 years old throwing little plastic figurines all over my living room. In case you are like me and not “in the know” one of the newest crazes is Gogo’s Crazy Bones.
Gogo’s are the hottest mini game toy–small colorful characters that come in hundreds of colors and designs, each one with a unique name, design, personality and special ability. Today’s Gogo’s are reminiscent of old school favorites such as marbles and jacks, with a modern twist! Each Gogo has a unique number for collecting and is designed so you can hold and throw them with one finger. Kids have a blast collecting, trading and playing with Gogo’s Crazy Bones!
Now I remember the original Crazy Bones that came out in the late 90’s and while I was a little too old for them, my brothers played with them. They were fun and simple. The new Gogo’s Crazy Bones are pretty similar but feature new designs, names, and gaming options.
When the kids first saw all the Gogo’s Crazy Bones on the table I had to stop them from ravaging them! I counted the number of kids, gave each kid a Ziploc bag, and a sticker book (with 3 Crazy Bones). The kids were excited to rip open their package and see what they got. I don’t think I noticed any duplicates but the kids were trading anyways! That is one fun feature of Gogo’s is that they are fun to trade and collect all 80 of them. There are definitely some funky ones too, while others are pretty solid colored.
Since most of the kids and parents had no clue about Gogo’s I did some explaining first. I showed them the sticker book and how there are all the different ones you can collect and trade. Each GoGo has its own Name, Favorite Game, Ability, Sentence about them, and How well they will play.
For example:
So Tori’s Favorite game is Scoring (the book also describes the different games you can play), His Ability is Jumps Walls, His Speed is 4, Bounce is 3 and Balance is 2.
At our Gogo’s party the kids were just trading them, trying to bounce them on the ground into a cup, bowling with them, and tossing them like Yahtzee to see how they land (different landing positions equal different points.) All the kids, even the younger ones just thought they were so cool or cute. Even though they are for ages 4 and up because of their small size, my 2 year old absolutely adores his Crazy Bones and is so proud of the ones he has.
As simple as GoGo’s are they are cute and collectible. They could be a phase but at least they are durable and meant to be played with!
