ABOUT:
Return to the magic and wonder of C.S. Lewis’ epic world in this third installment of the beloved The Chronicles of Narnia fantasy-adventure series when THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA: THE VOYAGE OF THE DAWN TREADER sails into Blu-ray and DVD from Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment on April 8th. Imagination comes to life with stunning special effects that bring the vast oceans and sprawling landscapes to life.
Precocious siblings Lucy (Georgie Henley, The Chronicles of Narnia series) and Edmund Pevensie (Skandar Heynes, The Chronicles of Narnia series), along with their cousin Eustace (Will Poulter, Son of Rambow), are swallowed into a painting and transported back to Narnia. They join King Caspian (Ben Barnes, Dorian Gray) and a noble mouse named Reepicheep in a quest to rescue noble lords who had been lost fighting evil on another island. Aboard the magnificent ship The Dawn Treader, the courageous voyagers travel to mysterious islands, confront mystical creatures, and reunite with the Great Lion Aslan on a mission that tests their characters to determine the fate of Narnia itself!
Academy Award®-nominee Liam Neeson (Schindler’s List) is featured as the voice of Aslan the Lion, Simon Pegg (Mission Impossible III) as the voice of Reepicheep the Mouse, and Academy Award®-winner Tilda Swinton (Michael Clayton) appears in a cameo as Jadis the White Witch.
MY THOUGHTS:
I love The Chronicles of Narnia series and read all the books as a child. We saw the first movie in the series “The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe” but missed the second movie “Prince Caspian” so I was worried I would be lost watching this movie “The Voyage of the Dawn Treader.” I would say even without reading the books or seeing any of the other movies, it is a great movie and easy to catch on. The characters are all wonderfully portrayed and there was not a lot that I felt I was missing by not seeing the second movie. I really liked this movie!
It was almost two hours long and full of Narnia fun. The special effects and non-human characters were very cool looking and the movie flowed nicely. I will definitely be watching this again, especailly once I get the first two movies in the series!
The movie is about Lucy and Edmund who are staying with their pain in the butt cousin, Eustance. They are suddenly swallowed into a painting of a ship at sea and transported into Narnia on Prince Caspian’s ship. The begin their voyage and meet more characters and adventure as they try to save Narnia. It is a magical movie.
