ABOUT:
Consumers talked, Spin Master listened. Moon Dough is now new and improved. The new dough is less crumbly and never dries out. Some other features include odor free and a better consistency for even more molding fun.
There is a new set available for ages 3 and up called the Moon Dough Push N’ Pop which comes in an Ocean Pals set or Breakfast set.
MY THOUGHTS:
I admit I have a love/hate relationship with Moon Dough. The old Moon Dough was great in the fact that it never dried out and my boy did love to squish it around (it is so much softer than play-doh) but it just didn’t mold well and it crumbled everywhere!
I admit I was not a big fan of the old Moon Dough for young kids. For older kids, it would have been a little easier and fun, and they would have been less messy (hopefully) but young kids need something that is more durable. The new Moon Doug is definitely “new and improved.” I cannot believe the difference, you’d think it was a different product! What is great too with the Breakfast set is that the items (pancake, waffle and toast) stamp on the Moon Dough which is extremely easy. The stamps are part of Moon Dough’s new Push N’ Pop tools. There is a little tray to pop the Moon Dough in and out like the old Moon Dough sets, put I actually prefer the stamps! My boys (3 and 4) were able to make breakfast all on their own and had so much fun! Aidan couldn’t wait to show the neighbor girl and they played with the set for another hour! The only thing I would change is make some other colors as you just get yellow and pink. No batteries and the Moon Dough even comes in its own resealable bags for storage, not that it will dry out but this way it stays cleaned up! Oh and the set even comes with a cardboard plate mat!
So if you had a negative or so-so experience with Moon Dough in the past, definitely give the new stuff a try and hopefully you’ll be as surprised and impressed as I was! I know I will be looking for the other new Moon Dough set, the Push N’ Pop Ocean Pals.
BUY IT: Moon Dough can be found at most mass retailers including Toys R Us, Walmart, Target, Kmart and more! The new sets retail for $9.99 each.
