    The Hunger Games Movie Arrives 3/23

    So in just a few weeks (March 23rd to be exact) the world will be watching the Hunger Games.  I actually jumped on the bandwagon and read all three books in the trilogy in a week because they were so good!

    Synopsis:

    Every year in the ruins of what was once North America, the evil Capitol of the nation of Panem forces each of its twelve districts to send a teenage boy and girl to compete in the Hunger Games.  A twisted punishment for a past uprising and an ongoing government intimidation tactic, The Hunger Games are a nationally televised event in which Tributes? must fight with one another until one survivor remains.

    Pitted against highly-trained Tributes who have prepared for these Games their entire lives, Katniss is forced to rely upon her sharp instincts as well as the mentorship of drunken former victor Haymitch Abernathy.  If she’s ever to return home to District 12, Katniss must make impossible choices in the arena that weigh survival against  humanity and life against love.

    THE HUNGER GAMES is directed by Gary Ross, and produced by Nina Jacobsons Color Force in tandem with producer Jon Kilik. Suzanne Collins best-selling novel, the first in a trilogy published by Scholastic that has over 16 million copies in print in the United States alone, has developed a massive global following.

    Lionsgate will release THE HUNGER GAMES on March 23, 2012.

      I have read all of the Hunger Games books. I didn’t read them until I saw the preview for the film and then I wished I would have waited a little longer because the month and a half wait for the film has nearly killed me.

      I am currently on book 3 and absolutely addicted, I was nearly in tears when I realized the movie soundtrack was on itunes next tuesday and not this tuesday. LOL I know LOSER!!! Katniss is like the best female book character besides Eve Dallas from the JD Robb In Death series. Im going to reread them all agian after I finish book 3. Im kinda nervous she isnt going to end up with Peeta….LOL

      Yes! Me, my husband, and our 16 year old daughter devoured all three books and loved them! We are die hard fans and have been anxiously awaiting the movie! We have a rule in our home that the kids can go to a movie at the theater on opening night if they have read the book first. We do this to encourage reading and it has become a fun family activity.

      I read all 3 books in just under 6 days – that’s how amazing they were! I would love to read the books again before the movie hits theaters – just to refresh some of the details. I know the movie isn’t going to be able to hold a candle to how fabulous the books are – but I’d still like to go see the movie!
