    Kidz Gear is a company that has created a line of products and accessories for kids that is comparable to adult products in quality but at a price point in line for children’s products.  They are not “toy” products that are poorly manufactured or un-safe, but also not “adult” versions that are expensive and still un-safe. Kidz Gear’s kid headphones are designed to meet in the middle with high quality, fully functional and ergonomically designed products.

    MY THOUGHTS:

    It seems like kids these days (wow I feel old saying that) listen to music and movies at levels way too loud through their headphones.  I worry already about my son’s (3 and 5 years old) ears as they are so little and don’t really know better.  They have their own little video game system and movie player that they use at home and in the car.  I have tried letting them use my headphones but they don’t fit them right and I worry about them playing with the volume control and turning it too loud.  I have also purchased cheaper kid headphones that quickly broke.

    Kidz Gear products sounded perfect for my children and I couldn’t wait to try out their selection, which I got the chance to try one of everything.

    Wired Headphones for Kids {Award-Winning}

    These headphones are perfect for kids, and I admit I have tried them out and love them!  They a have soft cushions to fit comfortably on your child’s ears, are flexible and adjustable.  The volume control is easy for kids to adjust and the cord even has a clip to attach to a shirt.  Worried about your child turning the volume too high, there is a Volume Limit Cable which is a a few inch cord that limits the volume to 80 dB – 90 dB.  My boys think it is so cool to have their own headphones and I feel safe knowing they can’t blow their ears!  We use them in the car with their video game systems and iPods!

    We have an AudioVox DVD player we had installed in our Honda Odyssey and while it did come with two pairs of wireless headphones, I wanted something more kid friendly a.k.a durable!  All I did was pop in some batteries and they automatically worked in our van!  There was no configuring or additional equipment needed.  These headphones are flexible, comfortable with padding and adjustable.  Perfect for kids (or even adults!)  I am actually going to pick up a second pair of these because now my other son says he wants the “New” headphones – which is fine with me since the pairs that came with the AudioVox car player were definitely not meant to stand up to kid-use (they are both duct-taped!)

    These headphones are perfect for any child who uses an Apple product (iPod, iPhone, iPad) regularly since they feature a middle button, in addition to Up/Down volume, to control the device via Play/Pause.  The headphones feature the Kidz Gear quality of comfortable, flexible and durable!  I love that they have a safe pair of headphones to use and that I no longer have to listen to the crazy sounds from the games they play on our iPad.  These headphones also work with other devices than just Apple products.  While they are plastic, they are a lot better than any other headphones I have seen.

    Kidz Gear Volume Limit Splitter Cable

    Headphone splitters are used when you have only one stereo headphone audio jack available; but, need two jacks for sharing your iPod, iPhone, iPad or other MP3 or CD player with two listeners. This stereo audio Y adapter is for use with any standard 3.5mm audio headphone jack, but is specifically made to support the Volume, Track Up/Track Down Remote features offered by the Apple line of music, phone and computer devices.  $7.99

    I have two boys who are constantly fighting over their devices (video game systems and Apple products) and headphones. With the Kidz Gear Headphone Volume Limit Splitter both my boys can listen to videos they watch on one device.  For example  a movie on the iPad can now be watched by both and listed via two pairs of headphones!  They share and I don’t have to listen to complaining, whining or whatever they are listening to!  It is easy to use, just connect two pairs of headphones and attach this cord to the device.

    Kidz Gear Volume Limit Cable

    This product was made to work with the Apple iPod, iPhone and iPad. It features KidzControl Volume Limit Technology to provide a safer listening experience. Kidz Control Volume Limit Technology limits the maximum sensitivity of the audio volume level to between 80db and 90db (the Safe Zone). In other words, the maximum volume output by a pair of headphones using this adapter is limited to 80% of the maximum volume output by a pair of headphones NOT using the Kidz Gear Volume Limit Cable.  $5.99

    The Kidz Gear Headphone Volume Limit Cable is perfect parents who want their children to listen at a safe level but prefer their own headphones.  Since all the Kidz Gear headphones come with Kidz Control Volume Limits, you don’t need this cord with them but if you have a kid (or teen) who prefers a particular style or brand then let them use it but tell them they have to use the Volume Limit Cable too!  Its a Win-Win for parents!  The cord is small, simple and just attaches to any headphones!  I don’t think kids (or teens or even adults) realize how loud something is and with this cord they can listen safely.
    Kidz Gear IR Wireless Transmitter
    (Not for use in vehicles, home use only)  $14.99

    This IR Wireless Transmitter allows you to use the Kidz Gear Wireless Headphones that are traditionally for car use now inside the house!  I tried this transmitter first hooking it up to our television and while it did work with the sound, I think the signals were crossing or something because my television picture got a little funky.  The transmitter does need to be lined up with the headphones height, which I didn’t have because of wherever I had to plug it in – I need my husband to get an extension cord for me and I think it will be set.  I did however get this to work perfectly with our iPad!  No cords to worry about, I just plugged in the transmitter to the iPad and he laid on the floor in front of it while watching a video.

    When not in use, I love that we have a bag to store our Kidz Gear headphones!  A lot nicer than a Ziploc bag and its fleece lined inside for protection!
    Overall, I really love and recommend Kidz Gear products.  They are safe, affordable, and kid-friendly.  The only problem I have with them is that I now want a few more pairs to keep in the car, home, and grandparents house!

      We live in Belgium and I’ve tried everywhere to buy the Kids gear headphone online but the sites like Amazon and a million otherones are not delivering in EU (Belgium).
      I think it’s a great product and we are going to South America in January so on a plane for 18 hours and I would love to give it to my 2 year old son as a Christmas gift? Can somebody help me where I can get them??

      My daughters some time play games on my iPad or on their DS and headphones for them would be awesome since those games are sometimes so loud when I’m in the room with them. (But you know kids, the game is not fun if the volume isn’t up to ten. I was that way too. lol.)
