Ziploc has just come out with a new innovation that is something I was like, wow why didn’t I think of that! New Ziploc Perfect Portions Bags are perfect for storing and freezing individual bulk portions of chicken and meats for easy use at a later ate. It is a bag that you place your hand in, grab your meat in your desired serving size and then place the individual portions in a big Ziploc Brand Freezer bag. You can then freeze your own individual portions for easy use.
What is great about this is when you see a bulk meat product on sale you can now safely and easily freeze portions. I have tried to this myself before by placing the portions in their own Ziploc bags but I would get freezer burn, the individual bags keep the portions tightly sealed and fresh. Other than chicken, I am thinking they’d be good for ground beef and fish too. Actually for summer it would be great for hamburgers since they always get freezer burn in the box they come in! Really anything you want individual portions of this would be nice to “perfectly portion!” The fact too that it is easy to grab the meat and then flip it closed, makes it easy to reduce the items and my hands that touch raw meat!
To help families eat fresher versions of their favorite meals, Ziploc has teamed up with Rachel Ray to bring healthy food to tables with the Great America FreshOver Project. “72% of Americans feel like a good parent when their family eats fresh food but only 47% eat fresh foods on a daily basis.” To make eating fresh easier, Rachel Ray has shared some awesome recipes on the Ziploc Brand Facebook Page!
As part of the FreshOver™ mission, Ziploc® Brand will make a donation to Rachael Ray’s nonprofit organization Yum-O®!, which brings fresh and healthy foods to families across the country. Families can support the cause by “pledging” to start their own FreshOver™ Project and by downloading the free, customizable FreshOver™ Recipe Guide at Facebook.com/Ziploc.
Here is one recipe I am excited to try is The Only Pizza You’ll Ever Want Again; Chicken, Sun-Dried Tomato, Broccoli, Ricotta, Mozzarella, and Basil, along with some other amazing ones!
