My husband and I decided six years we wanted a house phone, but we didn’t need a lot of minutes of features. A tradtional home phone was out of our budget and we wanted something that we could move with us. We chose Vonage and haven’t looked back. Now since we have had Vonage it has definitely changed and improved, and while the price has gone up a little bit each year it is still the cheapest for us. We have even looked into bundling our home phone with our cable televsion and Internet, but after the promotional period the price is still more than Vonage. Now you can add so many great features, including calling International for low prices. Oh and in case you are curious, setting up Vonage is super easy and once hooked up to your modem/router, you are ready to go. Any phones work with Vonage too – I have a set of VTech cordless handsets right now and don’t notice any difference in clarity. I will say though that a good set of phones does help too! Vonage offers different plans too that suit whatever your family’s needs are.
Features I love (included for free):
- Voicemails transcribed via email
- Call forwarding
- Automatic call forwarding if our Internet happens to go out
- Check call information at Vonage.com or iPhone app
- Call waiting
- Moves with you
- 3-way calling
- and so many more!
Right now I pay $19.99 for 750 minutes in U.S. and Canada, after taxes my cost is $28.80 per month.
Check out the amazing calling plans from Vonage – you can get unlimited domestic and international calls at a great monthly price. It’s a home phone service that saves you a ton of money.

I’d say that’s more than a fair price and a fair amount of minutes considering most of us primarily use our cell phones now.
