So Aidan decided last year that he wanted to be a “Truck” for Halloween. Well I figured that was simple enough and believe me, I am not a crafty mom. I am no where near those moms that bake awesomely decorated cakes, make homemade costumes, or really do any thing creative on my own! I am trying thanks to Pinterest and I figured a “Tuck” was probably something easy I could tackle!
Supplies:
- Yellow Spray Paint
- Black Spray Paint
- Cardboard Boxes
- Thick string
- Ball (if you want a wrecking ball attached)
- Duct Tape
- Super Glue
All I did was cut boxes. On the first box I cut a hole for Aidan to step into. The next box, I cut it so it looked like a Scooper shovel. I attached those with super glue. I then added the back Crane by using two Priority Mail boxes from the Post Office, but shoe boxes would also be a good size. I attached those with Duct Tape and pulled the flap inside the main box and taped it inside. My boys taped the string and ball on themselves, I am going to make this look a little nicer for Halloween. Finally I cut holes and tied string though to make overalls so Aidan could wear the truck and not have to carry it.
I wish I would have taken pictures of each step but I didn’t even think about it at the time. Believe me those, this is really easy and my son loves it. I could have gotten way more creative with this costume but I did it simply and quickly. I might even print out a “Caterpiller” logo and attach it with some tape on the side. We will add a construction hat, flannel shirt, and construction vest to complete the costume.
