My boys love Memory and they love our iPad. With Dr. Seuss Fun Machine from Wonder Forge, my boys can play a matching game and more both with or without the iPad.
Dr. Seuss Fun Machine
The Cat in the Hat is back … with an app! Dr. Seuss AppPlay Games combine the classic fun of tabletop games with the dynamic play power of apps, all served up for iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch. Match wits and make match-ups with these madcap mixes of family fun! Sturdy, colorful tiles pack up in a flash for quick bursts of Seuss fun … near, far, or or wherever you are. Ages: 3+ Number of Players: 1 to 4
Promotes:
- Matching
- Memory
- Observation
- Deduction
Product Contents
- 32 Game Tiles
- 1 Re-Sealable Storage Bag
- 1 Game Rules Manual
Right out of the box, Dr. Seuss Fun Machine is a set of 32 matching cards. They are a heavy cardboard that are definitely standing up to my kids. The tiles include different Seuss characters, colors and shapes for kids to play with. You can play both with just the cards or download the free app to interact with the cards. The app has three games you can play.
- Matching: Play memory with both the iPad and tiles
- Slap Down: Slap down the tile from your pile that matches the card on the screen. It is a fun, fast paced and challenging card game for kids.
- Guess-A-Roo: Guess the tile from the clues on the screen, like Guess Who.
Dr. Seuss Fun Machine is a great game for kids to learn to take turns, memory, matching, observation and decision making. It is for ages 3 and up and my boys (4 and 5) think this game is a blast. I love that it is a nice comprise with them – they want to play the iPad and I want them to play a board game! It is perfect for young kids though who are working on their shapes and colors and for older kids who want to work on memory matching. You can start off slow and work your way up to more challenging. For less than $10 (the app is free) this is a great little game for kids.
Here are some screenshots from my game too:
