With the new year starting in just a few days, I am sure I am not the only one who is considering “Loose weight” as a New Year’s resolution. I honestly think every year that I am going to work on loosing weight but then I got pregnant and pregnant and pregnant once again. Now that I am done having kids (I think) I am trying to get my body back to the pre-baby weight I was six years ago.
With the holidays finishing off the year, it makes it really hard to get motivated but then I saw the website “Let’s Fight Holiday Fat.” Right there on the front of the homepage it says “Don’t start the New Year with a Holiday Ham Hangover!” which is a great way to put things into perspective. The website features exercises, tools to stay on track and recipes.
For me my biggest problem is eating right. While I don’t work out regularly, I think I need to start eating better before I have the energy and motivation for working out. I am taking it in small steps too because if I overdo it then I know I won’t stick with it. So making healthy recipes and eating portions is where I am starting. I found some amazing recipes on the website such as Curried Cauliflower, Honey Glazed Chicken, Oatmeal Banana Pancakes, Shrimp Pasta with Lime Sauce and more! The recipes seem pretty easy to make and each recipe shows the Nutrition Facts so you can monitor your calories. Better yet though you can click “I ate this” and it will tally up the food you ate so you can watch your calories intake.
So if you are looking for a way to fight the holiday fat hangover and start the new year fresh, I’d suggest writing down some goals first. Don’t worry about sticking to all of them but at least you have a starting point.

Every New Year, I say I’m going to loss weight, which I never do. This time, I am making a goal to eat healthy and it has been working since August, so hopefully I can continue. This post helps, thanks 🙂

I have a problem with eating better too. It’s so hard when there’s always something good tempting you right there! I need to really start, esp with us TTC #2. I think the extra fat is causing some issues.

I definitely cannot do the New Year weight loss resolution thing. Its just feels like I’m setting myself up to fail. Then when I do, I get more depressed and gain more weight. What motivates me to stay thin is my son. I consider keeping up with the chores in house as exercise. Three flights of stairs, 1 husband, 1 son, and 1 dog and I’m the only one who cleans. =D

With all the temptations for Holiday goodies, it is hard to keep on track with weight loss. I am going to start getting better next week when I am getting all of the sweets out of the house. I usually am good about eating healthy and exercising but have stopped because of the Holidays! I will start next week being better!

Good sensible advice for losing weight. Eating well and portion control are very big. A little exercise is good too.
