This Earth Week, NBCUniversal is partnering with the sharing site yerdle to help you minimize your impact on the planet by sharing your stuff. One person’s stuff is another person’s story!
Here’s how it works.
1) Join or host a Share & Tell Party (click the “Join the Party” button in the app below).
2) Post your stuff to share with friends. Discover other items that are up for grabs.
3) Tell the story of your sharing experiences on your favorite social media site. #ShareandTell.

I have definitely cut back on the amount of electricity I have been using by always turning the lights off. I teach others to stop using too much water by switching off the faucet and to close the refrigerator.
I also, try to reuse everything instead of throwing items away. I wash plastic butter, sour cream, cottage cheese containers to use as food leftover containers and other useful things.

I’ve been recycling for about 20 years now, I also use energy saving bulbs, reuse plastic bags, never leave light on in a room I’m not in but most importantly I teach my grandchildren to be eco-friendly.

I recycle whenever I can- gotta love getting recycling rewards points I can put torward free stuff and coupons. However I do make an effort to recycle otherwise- when I did not have recycling rewards and lived in an apartment complex with no recycling bins (!!!) I took paper recyclables to a local paper gator (that supported the school with funds) and took other recyclables to a friend’s bin.

I try to reduce our consumption–everyday you get bombarded with stuff that may be free or low cost, but that doesn’t mean we have to take it. Most of our ads and toys were ending up in the garbage or donations and now we just try to nip it in the bud completely.
