    An Interview With Kelley Earnhardt Miller From NASCAR

    A few weeks ago I got the chance to interview Kelley Earnhardt Miller, the sister of iconic NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt Jr. and one of the most prominent businesswomen in NASCAR today.  I admit I am not a huge NASCAR fan, really I am not a sports fan in general, but as a woman I was curious to hear how she does it all!  As a stay at home mother of three I struggle keeping everything together and I was anxious to hear how she manages a depending job at NASCAR and her family of five!  She is the mother of three kids:  13 and 7 year old daughters and an 18 month old son and says her family comes first.

    My interview covers how she manages work and home, survives in a male-dominated field, and stays on top of her business duties as NASCAR.  Kelley also talks about Goody’s, which is the trusted brand for headache relief and a Dale Earnhardt Jr. sponsor.

    What does your typical day look like?

    I get up at 6:30 AM and get myself ready.  Then I go into “Mom Mode” and get the kids ready for school and drop off at 8:15.  Then its off to work with meetings and projects taking up my day.  After work its picking up groceries then home.  I spend some time with my three kids and then put them to bed.  I end with unwinding with my husband.

    How do you balance work and family?

    • Make each part a priority.
    • Kids are number 1.
    • Keep the focus on important things – Is this going to matter later?
    • Plan ahead during downtime.
    • I have great team support.

    What do you love about Goody’s?

    What is your favorite way to de-stress and re-charge as a mom?

    Every one in awhile I love to get a pedicure, read magazines such as recipes and home decor and listen to the radio.  I actually just had my nails painted my daughter and still have it, she was so excited!  I am also an avid scrapbooker, although I find that I am never in the pictures myself!

    What is your advice for a woman to survive in a male dominated field?

    Always have presence and and confidence.  From handshakes to speaking up and don’t be afraid to interject yourself into conversations.

    What is your favorite part of the job?

    I love when Dale (Earnhardt Jr.) wins or when our nationwide team wins.  We are able to work on great sponsorship opportunities and marketing offers from there.

    Overall, I had a great talk with Kelley.  She is super friendly and you can tell she really does love her job.  I kept my interview brief since I know she’s busy and I actually had to jump off the call and get my own child off the school bus!    I had never heard of Goody’s either and it is awesome to know about it coming in liquid form since I am often looking for something to drink when I take headache medicine.

      i usually just take 2 tylenol. if it is a sinus headache, i take an alka seltzer and then an hour later 2 benadryl and go to sleep! thanks for such a very useful giveaway-i have really been wanting to try these products 🙂

      I remember taking Goody’s when I was younger.. then after having my kids went to tylenol. 6 yrs ago I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. Instead of the 750mg Ibuprofen the Dr wanted me to take with my regular pain meds.. I took Goody’s> it’s faster action and helps me tolerate the pain better

      I usually just deal with the pain. I don’t really take medicine because Advil and alive don’t work.

      Now, unless it is a migraine which I am subject to getting, I usually try to sleep through a headache. I do that because my migraines are so incredibly difficult to handle that regular headaches are so far and few in between I hate to treat them with anything strong.

      I rarely get headaches, unless I am sick, but my husband gets horrible migraines and the only thing that works for him (even Rx’s don’t help) is Goody Powders. He has not tried the liquid shots yet, but we will be looking for them

      We use Advil.Excedrin Migraine,Home remedies such as cooling cloth and a dark room but none of them work once one sets in !

      Currently, I use Walmart brand of migraine tablets. . . and usually spend a day in bed trying to get rid of it. I had never considered Goody’s! I will try it next time!

      I use Ice packs, wrapped in a towel, directly on my head when it gets really bad! Otherwise I use Tylenol – oh and make sure I had enough water for the day – because not having enough can cause headaches!

      Well I suffer with migraines, so I am under doctor’s care. This would really be good for my husband, he don’t have a lot of headaches.
