    Last month I shared my thoughts on the New LeapPad Ultra and how much all three of my kids love it.  Well now I get to give one away!  Just in case you missed it, here is a quick re-cap about the LeapPad Ultra:

    The Newest LeapPad Ultra is more expensive that the other LeapPad versions have been (or are currently) but I think it has some great features to offer. Here are the features of the new LeapPad Ultra compared to the LeapPad 2 tablet:

    • 7-inch backlit Light-touch screen (compared to 5-inch backlit Resistive touch screen)
    • 1024×600 Resolution (compared to 480 x 272)
    • 800 MHz Processor speed (compared to 550 MHz)
    • 8GB memory built-in (compared to 4GB)
    • Wi-Fi with kid-safe Web (no other LeapPad has had Wi-Fi)
    • Motion sensor
    • 2MP camera and 480p video recording (compared to 240p video recording) – Oh and there is a camera on the front and back
    • MP3 Player Built-In (previously it was sold seperately)
    • Includes 11 apps – $80 value (compared to 5 apps and $40 value)
    • Up to 9 hour battery life
    • AC-adapter included (not included previously)
    • Peer-to-Peer Play (this is completely new to the Ultra)
    • Learning Path & Parent settings online
    • 12-month warranty

    So basically for the cost of the new LeapPad Ultra you get the new features of Wi-Fi, Peer-to-Peer gaming, more apps included, a charger (yeah for no more batteries), more memory (yeah for not running out of room, which yes we have come close on our old LeapPad2), Faster speed (yeah for faster loading time as patience is not something my kids have mastered yet.) To me I can’t even think of anything else I would add to the LeapPad Ultra. They have almost upgraded every feature from previous versions.

      I like that it has a rechargeable battery built in, I go through so many batteries on various toys. the kid safe WIFI is a great feature.

      There are so many positive things to like about this LeapPad, but ultimately I have to say the battery life. It’s crazy how many batteries we go through around our house and rechargeable batteries, it seems, are constantly being charged. The boys are somewhat obsessed with battery operated devices!

      no more batteries!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i hate replacing batteries on my kids toys more than I hate doing dishes and I really HATE doing dishes

      I think the LeapPad Ultra seems like a great learning tool for my daughter. I love the fact that it’s relatively fast, and has a seven inch screen!

      I love that there is an ac adapter included which wasn’t previously, it has a child safe wi-fi, includes 11 free apps and also a front and rear camera! Very nice! I probably should have just said I love everything about it! 🙂

      I love the 9 hour battery life- thats more than enough play time for both of my sons to get a turn throughout the day without having to charge it up again, awesome 🙂

      I love the 7-inch screen (one reason the kids I watch love “adult” tablets are because of the large screens) and the kid safe wi-fi! It’s nice to know I won’t have to worry about any inappropriate sites being accessed!

      I like that it doesn’t need batteries! After a full day of being out and about running errands by sons Leap Pad needs a fresh set of batteries. I keep an extra set of 4 in my purse, car, and diaper bag for emergencies and they tend to get very expensive! Can’t wait to have unlimited play time with the new ultra!!!

      I really like the peer to peer play and that it has the parental settings…. Makes me confident that my child is safe and that he can interact with someone other than a bot 🙂

      My son had one of these when he was little and my daughter has a leap frog leap pad that is purple and pink. She’s 6 years old and totally loves it! I know she’d be obsessed with the ultra one though cause it can do so much more.

      I am loving the idea of the built in battery. Perfect for my child who seems to drain batteries very quickly! And my son would really rock the camera/video camera feature. He enjoys taking pictures of everything, including himself!

      My favorite feature is the front and back camera. So many tablets now have both cameras and kids want tablets to match.

      I love the long battery life which is an added plus but also that it is wifi kid friendly and that parents can control it. So great!!!

      I like the idea that it is WiFi ready and we love taking pictures here so it’s nice to have a 2MP camera for a kid… front and back is a nice perk for goofy faces I’ll cherish for years to come 🙂
