Disclosure: I received the products below in exchange for sharing my honest opinion.
I don’t know about you, but I feel like all the toys and gadgets my kids got for Christmas are all slowly requiring new batteries. I feel like everyday I am getting a toy shoved at me whose batteries have died. It’s not just the kids toys though but also our waterproof digital camera, walkie talkies, Xbox controllers and even remotes! I couldn’t count everything in my house that requires batteries even if I wanted too!
One brand of batteries that is great for high tech devices are Energizer® Ultimate Lithium batteries. Consumer Reports actually did a test of 15 popular AA battery brands this past January in high tech devices including digital cameras and LED flashlights, and Energizer® Ultimate Lithium batteries were the winner!
Some features of Energizer® Ultimate Lithium batteries:
- The world’s longest late sting AA & AAA batteries in high-tech devices
- Hold power for up to 20 years when not in use
- Last up to 9x longer than Energizer MAX in high drain digital cameras, which means up to 9x less waste (results vary according to device)
- 33% lighter than ordinary alkaline batteries
- Perform well in extreme temperatures, from -40° F to 140° F (-40° C to 60° C)
My mouse is a huge battery-sucker, not anymore!
According to Dan DiClerico of Consumer Reports, “Although they’re more expensive, lithiums can provide up to five times the power of an alkaline under certain circumstances.” So while it may seem like you are getting a deal buying cheap batteries, you may actually be worse off! I will definitely be thinking twice when I buy batteries on what I will be using them for! For low power-usage devices like a remote or item you don’t use too much, cheap batteries could probably be just fine, but for those everyday high-power items it is best to stick with what will work and last! I have definitely seen firsthand how cheap batteries last just a few rounds with a toy compared to Energizer® Ultimate Lithium. Less battery changing also means less time I am wasting searching for batteries, a screwdriver and just stopping what I am doing in general to change out batteries!
