Disclosure: I won a trip sponsored by Allegiant Air and Visit Mesa in which travel, accommodations and tickets were provided in exchange for sharing my honest opinion.
Last month while in Mesa, Arizona, my husband and I took advantage of some of the local adventure tours, specifically one being Green Zebra Adventures. Now I will say finding the place took a little bit as it seemed to be way out there in the desert but it was worth it!
Green Zebra Adventures offers one of the most exciting things to do in Arizona. We provide exhilarating off-road tours featuring the cutting edge Tomcar, which is more than just your run-of-the-mill ATV. Green Zebra Adventures allows you to drive your own specially-designed, military grade, off-road vehicle with an experienced local guide leading the way. At each of the scenic stops, you will enjoy interesting commentary on area culture, geography, and history. This is an activity that anyone can enjoy. Our Tomcar tours are the best way to experience Arizona in a truly unique way!
So what did we think? It was awesome! First off each couple (or family) gets into their own off-road vehicle, kinda like a golf cart on steroids. There is no track, nor are you attached to other cars but rather you follow in a line as your guide takes you through the desert. We actually had two guides, one in the front of the line and one in the back. They were great! We received complimentary bandanas and yes you want to use them! I didn’t realize how dusty we got until we got into the car! The ride lasted about two hours and we made about three stops along the way. We stopped so the guides could show us the different cactus and plants in the desert, I learned way more than I thought possible about cactus! We even stopped at one place where we say wild horses roaming!
My husband was seriously loving driving the Tomcar. He was like a kid in a candy store and when we got to go fast on the trails, he was in his glory. Whiping the Tomcar around and cruising like there was no tomorrow! I would recommend Green Zebra Adventures to anyone looking to learn more about the desert, explore the desert in a unique way and hopefully seeing the beautiful wild horses.
Here is a video I took while a passenger:
