A week ago I share a post about how excited I was to host a Skylanders and Frito-Lay party. I’m not sure who was more excited about the party, me or my kids! I figured you can’t really go wrong with snacks and video games, especially ones that everyone can enjoy.
First off here was the Frito-Lay snacks and Skylanders we started with:
For our party we invited a few neighbors over and their kids for some Frito-Lay snacks, Pepsi beverages and Skylanders Swap Force playing! We had a total of nine kids and they were all excited to eat and play as were all the adults!
Since it was nice out they played outside a little bit to work up an appetite:
Then there was snacking along with hamburgers and hot dogs as well.
To end the night we had some Skylanders Swap Force playing in our basement with the projection TV, yes our screen is a little big:
Overall, we had a great night. It’s funny how something as simple as putting out some Frito-Lay snacks and turning on Skylanders can put smiles on everyone’s faces. All the guests seemed like they all had a great time, asking at the end of the night when we were doing it again! I love that Frito-Lay has partnered with Activision. My son actually was super excited to see the packaging on the Frito-Lay snack bags have Skylanders featured, again it’s the little things!
Well if you haven’t heard yet, Skylanders is coming out with their newest game this fall called Skylanders Trap Team™. Frito-Lay and Activision hosted a contest called “Choose and Name a New Hero.” It was narrowed down to three Skylanders character names out of nearly 20,000 submissions to be voted on to become the first-ever-fan-selected-Skylanders Hero. The finalist receiving the most eligible fan votes will be awarded a $100,000 scholarship.
The three choices in alphabetical order were:
“Bat Spin” submitted by Kimberly Josey from Charlotte, N.C., is a witch tasked with saving the underworld from trolls to prove worthy of joining the Skylanders heroes.
“Flip Wreck” submitted by Noel Foster from Clearwater, Fla., is imagined as half-dolphin and half-shipwreck, unlike any Skylanders the world has ever seen.
“High Five” submitted by Phylicia Nakamoto from Elk Grove, Calif., is the fifth son of the Royal High Flying Dragonflies. Famous for his great speed, this hero can fly higher and faster than any other dragonfly in Skylanders.
Fans has spoken and the contest just ended, with the New Skylanders Trap Team™ character being revealed later this year!
