Hot New Books in June From Parragon Books {Review}

So last month I got the chance to check out some hot new books from Parragon Books.  I received some picture books for my youngest and some fun activity books for my boys!

So what books did I get for June?

If You Can, We Can

$6.99 – 24 pages – Hardcover

Children will love this beautifully illustrated storybook with delightful text by Beth Shoshan. Ideal for reading aloud with your little one, this heartwarming tale will capture the imagination of children and parents alike.

This is an adorable tale of a mom (or dad or just friends) bunny and a child who do various things together.  They hug, they dance, they laugh, they sing and so forth, having fun just being together.  It is a cute story that is simple and easy for children to understand.  The illustrations are also simple but beautifully illustrated.  My 3 year old loves the bunnies dancing and laughing together.  It is a basic picture book that would appeal to any child.

Wish Upon a Dream (Margaret Wise Brown)

First off this book is by the author of GOODNIGHT MOON, so I did have high expectations on it since we love that book.  This book if beautifully illustrated and there are so many great pictures that I find myself finding something each time I look at an illustration.  The story is simple with just a few sentences (if any) on the pages of this picture book.  Its a perfect bedtime book for any child and my 3 year old loves when I read about the different animals and their dreams.  Usually picture books are $12 and up so this one being just $8 is a steal!  I’d recommend this as a gift for new moms or baby’s 1st birthdays, its really an adorable story for any child’s collection.

Dino Supersaurus: Stickersaurus

$5.99 – paperback

Stickers at the ready! The evil T-Rex is on the rampage and the Dino Supersaurs need to stop him in his tracks. This book opens out into 7 giant story scenes showing the streets, cityscape and skies of New Dino City. With over 50 reusable stickers to stick, lift and restick, children can read the story panels and create their own action-packed scenes. Comes with super-stretchy dinosaur character ready for combat!

This is a super fun sticker book with over 80 stickers total and 7 giant scenes to place them on.  The pages open up to big spreads so you can lay the stickers out and create fun scenes.  My 6 year old had a blast with this as he loves dinosaurs and stickers.  Its also set up with drawings comic-book style which of course was appealing to my son as well.  For $6 you can’t go wrong with this cute book for any dinosaur fan.

1,000 Facts You Just Won’t Believe (Discovery Kids)

Jam packed with fascinating facts on just about everything all guaranteed to amuse and amaze.

This has become my 7 year old son’s favorite book.  He loves to flip through it and scan all the fun facts.  We have been reading them daily and they are sticking in his head, which is great for him to remember these facts.  He is definitely going to always have something to say in conversations!  The facts are appropriate for kids and ones that make kids want to read more.  I love that its full of pictures and that the facts are sentences rather than paragraphs.  It is very kid-friendly and I admit I have been flipping through it as well!  For $6 this would be a great gift for any child as it has a little of everything in it!
